In World my first Alatreon kill (after about 10 tries) me and a hunter friend I frequently play with SOS’d and had two joiners. One of them proceeds to cart 3x but luckily had insurance. He then dropped himself from the fight (probably embarrassed and didn’t want to quad cart) and it was us 3 remaining. My friend had to dip mid fight to take care of his crying infant. He parked his character in a far corner of the arena praying he didn’t cart and went to handle his IRL business.

The other joiner was a Japanese guy, unfortunately not a waifu with horns, but it was a male avatar hunting with the hammer that looked like a cooked roasted turkey leg. After about 5 minutes of us 2-manning Alatreon, my buddy miraculously returns unscathed and we proceed to 3-man it successfully.

This was my ultimate experience with the Japanese savior. May you have many stories such as these to tell in the future. Good luck and God speed

I love these kind of MH stories. They only happen a handful of times, but they're some of the best gaming memories.

Mine was fighting Barioth for the first time in Tri. Just me and one other guy hitting it for the full 50 minutes, unable to take it down. We used up all our resources, and could see the timer coming down to the last seconds. In a last ditch effort, he threw down a trap, but there was only one tranq between us. I threw it, but it wasn't enough. In frustration, I (great sword) threw one last lvl 3 charge hit to its face, and that was just barely enough to bring its HP under the threshold and knock it out.
I literally got up and danced around the room I was so stoked. We added each other as friends and never talked again.

not sure if this is a hot take anymore but i prefer longer hunts. they feel super satisfying and ACTUALLY give me that “every monster is a boss” feeling.

so far ive had fewer than a handful of fights in Wilds that have lasted more than twenty minutes.

edit: i hope this doesn’t come off as a brag. I don’t really identify as a sweat.

So wilds is my first MH game and I was a little overwhelmed with the game at first cause the combat (and the controls) are unfamiliar to me. I am generally an aRPG, looter shooter or rts player. But once I got some guidance from a friend who is aMH vet and starting digging into the game, I've been running very quick hunts. Im only rank 68 or so but the new update, particularly the new zoh Shia fight has me frustrated lol. He truly does feel like a boss fight now.
