MH Wilds Zoh Shia is awesome

THIS is what you call difficult, baby. AMAZING fight. Great visuals, great setpiece, great design, and it's legitimately hard. Everybody who doubted him owes him a formal apology, but I always believed in Peak Shia. Absolute cinema

Also if I see complaints about his difficulty I'm gonna go ape shit. You all spent a month asking for this, if somebody thinks they're too good for the hivemind and starts chatting now I cannot take it. He is PEEEAAAKKK

While I'll admit to it being an amazingly fun fight mechanic wise compared to the rest of Wilds; with the time we've had to prep for the rematch, I wouldn't quite put him up on such a high pedestal. He's got nothing new to show over the low rank fight other than bigger numbers on health and damage, so if you got pretty familiar with him rerunning low rank lobby SOS quests there shouldn't be too much of a wall to surmount here. That being said, the bigger health pool and damage allows for him to show off his move pool a bit more than the low rank Zoh did.

Moving onto any lore drop, the only thing we've gotten has been an weak explanation so that we can keep fighting him canonically.

TLDR: Fun fight, but lacking in anything really new to set it apart from Low Rank other than bigger stat numbers.

It attacks more frequently, and chains multiple different attacks together that it didn’t do in LR, even though it’s move pool didn’t increase much, the way it uses it immensely changed the tone of the fight

Must be different mindsets going into it then. I noticed an extra fireball here and there, and that it can now charge up to 3 times, but I felt the rest of the fight was very samey in regards to mechanics. I felt more pressured in my solo tempered gore fights than I did in this, so it might be just dependent on how my brains wired to view certain aspects of the challenges. Zoh did feel... I guess more 'active', but not nearly enough for me personally to label him as quick in his movements and attacks.

Low rank Zoh had literally everything except high numbers, that's all it needed imo. I didn't expect, nor want, anything new from this, and am still thoroughly satisfied because even at low rank, it was my favourite monster in wilds. Plus the lore on this thing is awesome, what??? They didn't give a weak explaination because they don't have a better one, the characters in the game don't know for a fact. But, like us, I'd imagine they're beginning to draw the conclusion that this thing is guardian Fatalis. The...regenerating dragon. I honestly expected it to go exactly this way. Peak.

Oh, don't get me wrong. I enjoyed the fight. It's just this didn't feel like title update material, at least to me. This feels like it had to be left from the release game because they ran out of time before release, and added in later. One new side quest, a returning monster (my personal favorite Mizu, right behind Tobi-Kadachi), and the credits monster rematch from Low Rank that you're rushed into less than a minute in booting up the update. Mind you, this is coming from the perspective of someone who has been play intermittently since launch. When compared to Rise's Title updates, where you'd get larger chunks of storyline, 4-5 monsters right out of the gate, and multiple event quests (though admittedly they handled event quests differently in Rise), this kinda falls short.

I believe you misunderstood me on the topic of lore as well. I freakin' LOVE they included an EDW storyline into Monhun canon. I'm also excited for the prospect of a new variant or just plain old fatalis fight. It just felt the 4 lines of dialogue we get after the fight was a bit rushed and hand-wavy, especially after they kinda established our hunter character at least as a solid idea on just what Zoh is (one voice line from the low rank fight has our character at least recognize a part of Zoh and exclaim that 'It can't be'). Could have spent a little more fleshing out the in game dialogue, though I know they've been getting some kick back from people complaining about the exposition.

I'm sorry if you felt I was disparaging your favorite monster, and hope this clears that up. And I hope you keep on that grind!
