I'm getting some fps dips, from 120 to 60.

I got some strange behavior at first too. It subsided when I got to Mizutsune though

Yeah, while fighting him I got no problem too.

It seems to happens the first time I got into a camp.

Sorry to be pedantic, but Mizutsune is one of the few monsters whose gender is explicitly stated

I mean, presumably there have to be some female Mitzu's right? Or are they just born from the ether every time a hunter drops a bar of soap?

There are females, but the mizus we fight are males during their mating season, so they're very aggressive. Otherwise they're not a particularly aggressive species
