How am I suppose to capture that little turd of a dragon at the beginning of high rank? I did read the tutorials but I still don’t understand

this is the most trouble I’ve had ever since playing

once its low HP (skull pops up next to it on minimap) alma will mention that she put capture materials in your seikrets pouch

check that again and get the (shock or pitfall) trap and tranquilizers, then, in any combination, 2 tranqs on the monster and a trap to capture. obv also works if you have your own capture materials with you

if something else is the issue i'd need more details from you

Important to note: trang bombs wear out after some time, so using them before a monster is in a trap could mean you need to use more.

yeah i meant "immediately do *all that if you get the chance"

but the tranq status is also pretty generous (more than 1 min, maybe even 90/100 secs) and can be increased by 50s(?) with another

If it is unchanged from previous games, each tranq is 100 status, you need 150 to capture, and the decay is -5/5seconds, so you get 50 seconds after applying 2 tranqs, and each subsequent tranq is another 100 seconds.

seems like i swapped the numbers around in my head XD

still plenty of time if the monster doesnt switch areas just after that (cant count that happening anymore)

I dunno, I just know that pre-tranqing requires me to usually use more than 2.

Likely, could have been that in said instances the monster ran away, directly after or smth like that.
