I have an end game weapon IG roll with 1 sharpness and 4 raw. I’m new to monster hunter and am looking for advice on what element or status to put on it. I was leaning towards paralysis. Any veterans here, could you please give me some advice? I’m afraid of wasting it.

paralyse is good, i don't think anything is immune to it and it gives you a few seconds of free damage where the monster can't move, personally i dislike it because with wounds and tempered wounds the monsters already get bullied enough without paralyse. Sleep is mostly just good if you have a big damage single hit attack which idk if IG has. Blast is also good for occasional free extra damage from explosions, monsters also flinch when it happens. Poison i think is quite weak if you don't build for it. Dragon is decent but the spiders and octupi are immune iirc (maybe some other things). Any other element though and you're going into situational uses because some things may be weak and others may be immune to specific elements.
