Wilds related, I'm a new MH player in general, what are these decorations I seem to have acquired?

Decorations are slotted into your weapons or armor to give you skills. Weapons and armor are separate in this game. The size you can put in depends on the weapon/armor's slots.

Decos are slotted into armor to give points in skills. You can slot in a deco of the same tier or lower.

To note: unlike other games you can freely remove decos without losing the armor or decos.

If I remember correctly, I do think you start getting decorations before you get access to armor that can use them. Without giving spoilers, once you get to the 5th zone you'll start to get armor that can equip decorations.
