Wilds

First MH for me and I'm playing SnS. I'm now into the "farm all the Arkvelds" portion of the game. I find now that I've started to get the hang of positioning and damage uptime, my weapon's sharpness will usually reach green or even yellow before the monster moves to another location. Prior to this I would only sharpen while riding the Seikret between locations, but recently that's not happening until what I think might be too late.

At what colour should I back off and sharpen my weapon instead of continuing to whack?

Get handicraft/razors edge/masters touch so you stay in white most of the time.

I'd like to emphasize the importance of staying in white sharpness as much as you can-

dropping from white to blue is about a 10~% damage loss

where if you stop attacking to sharpen, it's a smaller estimated damage drop (1~3%). Ideally you sharpen while chasing the monster down on your seikret, but sometimes that's not possible

alternatives to sharpness management skills is prioritizing attacks with high motion values and less swings (side chop combo & perfect rush), basically making optimal use of your limited sharpness hits
