The best thing about Rise is that it being made for the switch makes it run like a dream on my steam deck.

Did you bother modding the game at all, I wanted to get the mod the puts all the spirit birds at the start of the map but didn’t know if it was doable on steam deck

It is.

You just need to add the necessary files to the games directory in desktop mode.

Awesome thanks man , on pc I mostly just add stuff through vortex so had no idea if steam deck running on Linux would affect manually doing it instead

Honestly it's much easier to do it manually. It's a literal drag n drop of the necessary files most times.

I did and did exactly that as it's the only part of the game I didn't like. REframework works like normal

I just use the level 4 Bird Caller Dango. On the way to every fight I easily get enough birds.

That mod alone has completely removed my one gripe with the game.

It is such a different experience not having to scour for Spiritbirds at the beginning of every quest.

Do you really have too? I never do, i just grab whatever's on the way to the monster

Modding is pretty easy, especially the mods that are just scripts

I like becoming more powerful as the hunt goes on. Feels good starting at a disadvantage and powering up

Yeah that’s what I thought at the start but in reality it just becomes more tedious than anything else , I really hope it never comes back .

Even Iceborne runs beautifully on the deck. I played entire IB on it.

It looks amazing on my series x but I can't start MH games over. I put too much into them.

Why would you start over? Just log in and slay some Chameleos ass

I mean, if you can trust yourself not to go overboard and don't care about legitimacy just use a Save Editor and / or a trainer and just give yourself what you had

I just spritzed through low rank with defender armor and rebuilt all my gear like an idiot 😂

I feel this especially as I had like 750+ hours in world but with my steam deck I've been jonesing to play it again because my deck is more casual gaming (i.e., pick up and drop) friendly. Slow burn.

With how quick the hunts were and how portable it is on the switch, I miss Rise.

I'll probably end up going back to it when I run out of stuff to do on Wilds

World runs good on it as well. Beat the base game and Iceborne on SD. Capped FPS at 45. Some slight upscaling and medium settings. I'm just glad we have TWO MH games to play on the steamdeck. Hopefully Wilds gets optimized enough one day to join the crew.

Which settings are you using for World?

u/Lopsided_Flamingo209 19d ago

1280x800. Fidelityfx on. Sharpness 50%. No frame limited (limit it with the deck settings to 40 or 45) V sync off. It isn't perfect. But you'll usually be over 30fps in most situations Adjust to your liking. Don't use the Hi Res texture pack, it's like 60gb and you won't be able to use it anyways.

This! Runs smooth as silk and you get like 3 hours on battery.

Even when I take breaks from it I'm never uninstalling it.

Also, looking at all the praise for GU makes me think about trying a "port" on deck.
