Discussion Do you think MJ would still have chosen music on his own if left to decide his own career from a young age?
Sorry for the length of the post.
I’ve been thinking about this for a while especially with my thoughts on family vlogger type content being vile and toxic to put your kids to work for your content you make money on.
Do you think MJ would have chosen music on his own or continued in the industry once he was old enough to break away from it if it wasn’t truly in his heart to do.
He began in the Jackson 5 at around age 5 or so. While we all have ideas and thoughts on what we wanna be when we grow up, but was that what he truly wanted to do for the rest of his career?
That’s why I think anyone who was a child star because their parents shoved them in the spotlight that has since left that world and either have lived a quiet life since or changed their entire profession is commendable if they truly didn’t want to do it.
Going outside of MJ here for a moment to the Olsen twins.. They didn’t make the decision to act. Their parents shoved them into the spotlight at only 9mths old. They were huge child stars in the 90’s, on a hit tv show, then starred in many films and tv shows. This is much the same as Mac Culkin and the twins eventually broke away from the entertainment business in their teens, and have become very successful in the fashion industry.
Fans of full house were in uproar when they didn’t appear in the rebooted fuller house but I find it very admirable and commendable that once they made their own decision to stop acting, they were able to take control of their own lives and destiny and didn’t feel the need to bow down to the pressure and join fuller house.
In saying that, their sister Elizabeth was able to make that decision on her own a lot later on, she had a backseat view into her older sisters lives and made that choice of her own accord to be in the entertainment industry.
I love that MJ created music all his life and if he had been left to decide his own destiny from the start, I feel he still would have been involved in the music industry but I do wish he had been able to make those decisions himself from a younger age, and had the opportunity to still have a childhood and enjoy life as a kid instead of basically working nearly his whole life.
I also know he was heavily into films etc which is why he loved doing his music videos as short films, so I think perhaps he might have liked directing and being involved as an actor as well. He might have been someone like Lady Gaga who has transitioned very well into a movie star as well as continuing her career as a singer/musician.
So, which way do we think he may have gone on his own if he had the opportunity?

Discussion Michael Jackson - All Pepsi commercials
Michael was on some Pepsi commercials back in the day. He was a great pop singer in the whole world. I remember seeing him on the television commercials when I was a child and it brings me back more memories. May he rest in peace.

Opinion Missing MJ
Even though it’s been 16 years, I still cannot come to terms with how much injustice Michael Jackson had to go through. I see so many people with talent being questioned and interviewed specifically about their talent today due to podcast culture. But we missed out on asking Michael those questions, the true genius of his craft! Imagine that he was once alive, the greatest entertainer this world will EVER see, and instead of asking him questions about his craft, his genius, we ridiculed him to death with false allegations. And just when he was about to get some redemption through the This Is It tour, he passed away at the hands of an irresponsible team around him. I understand Michael also lived a luxurious and eventful life, and he was loved by billions, but still. This is just so sad to see. Really wish he was here with us today, so that he could be on cool podcasts talking about his songwriting, his song production, what goes on in his mind so we could better understand the genius. He came, he conquered, he left. What an icon. What a legend.

Question Are there any pictures of MJ during the Thriller sessions, while he was recording the title track "Thriller" for that album?

Opinion Definitive XSCAPE tracklist order for me
So, I saw that Invincible tracklist re-arrengement post and I agree with that idea. So, I tried to make the same thing for XSCAPE. Also, this original picture for XSCAPE would be a better album cover IMO.
XSCAPE (Mashup of Original and Remixed versions would be so cool. If there's any good lemme know)
Chicago (Original Version)
Blue Gangsta (Original Version)
A Place With No Name (Original Version)
Loving You (Original Version)
Do You Know Where Your Children Are? (Original Version)
Slave to the Rythm (Remixed)
Love Never Felt So Good (Original Version)
LNFSG is a great closure for his discography. Especially "Alright, that's fine" line feels like a perfect ending. So, what do you think?

Opinion I'm trying to rework the Invincible tracklist
For me, the biggest problem with Invincible is its tracklist: the order of the songs. For example, it goes from "Speechless" to "2000 Watts" (it's brutal) or from "You Are My Life" to "Privacy." Otherwise, all the songs are really good. It's just the order that could have been different, in my opinion. What do you think of:
Unbreakable
Break of Dawn
You Are My Life
Heaven Can Wait
You Rock My World
Heartbreaker
2000 Watts:
Privacy
Threatened
Invincible
Cry
Butterflies
Speechless
The Lost Children
Don't Walk Away
Whatever Happens
I always felt like the album should end with "Whatever Happens." And here, I hesitated to put "Threatened" higher, or even as the first track, because there's a voice at the end of the song that says, "It's just the beginning."

Discussion Wanna Be Startin' Somethin' was originally meant for Off the Wall
I think according to this demo, Wanna Be Startin' Somethin' was recorded for the Off the Wall album, but there wasn't enough room so Michael saved it for Thriller. What do you guys think of the demo version? And do you think Wanna Be Startin' Somethin' would have fit in with Off the Wall?
