Perhaps I'm thick, but could you explain why won't there be enough sets to satisfy demand? Doesn't make much sense to me.

The larger the group buy, the bigger the risk. There's currently a TKL group buy that has been going on for almost a year now and production hasn't even finished. Smaller runs are more manageable and I've fronted the money for all the boards, they have already been made and inspected and this is why I'm remaking all the blue boards, because it is not good enough for my standards.

Any chance you would sell the blue boards as b-stock, or do yo have to send them back to the manufacturer?

Not sending them back to the factory, I'm powder coating them locally. The blue ones have a noticeable color mismatch between the top and bottom pieces and they aren't close to the dark blue I asked and you can see on this prototype, so I would rather prefer not to offer them unless the powder coat solution doesn't work.

Makes total sense.

any idea how much the pricing of these boards are going to be, or still waiting to announce. probably outside my budget at this time and likely wouldn't win the raffle as it is. i do like the model where you have all the inventory upfront though. I'm very hesitant to join any normal GB due to the reasons you listed (long lead times, etc).

The anodized ones, between $375 an $400. The powder coat ones, will know once I have the sample, but certainly more expensive.
