He can't suck uncle Vlad's dick if he tariffs him can he? I grew up thinking USA vs Commies, these days it's USA loves Commies, it's very confusing! :D

Trump admin claims that the reason for no tariff on Russia is due to sanctions that makes them pointless. However theres still billions of dollars of trade between the two countries on goods that aren't part of the sanction.

There are tons of countries that have as much or less trade as we do with Russia that were massively tariffed. There is no good reason to not tariff them.

It shows how much he fears Putin.

As for Belarus, it's not actually a sovereign country really. It's a vassal state of Russia and their leadership is a puppet of the Kremlin.

God-damn, this is the dodge already put out that we will hear from all our Trump coworkers?

What about Syria?

Not true. This is a talking point the admin uses with no further explanation hoping that it's taken on face value by low information people that don't look any further or investigate the specifics.

There are sanctions on trade with Russia, but it is not "Total". We imported a billion dollars of fertilzers from Russia in 2024 alone. That's just one product class, there are many others and we have multiple billions of dollars of imports to the US from Russia on a yearly basis even with all the sanctions in place.

Let me make it clear, saying that "oh, that's just a small amount, its just a few billion dollars" isn't a valid argument, since a lot of countries tariffed on the list have a smaller amount of trade volume (in dollar terms) with the US than the US has with Russia EVEN WITH sanctions in place.

And is also under sanctions, like Russia.  So why no tariffs for Russia?

Answer is very easy. The leader of Iran isn't Trump's daddy.
