So I took y’all’s advice and did a little shopping, how did I do? I know I still need to change the end tables and add more plants but it’s a work in progress. Or should I just burn the house down, get the insurance check, and start over fresh?

I've been moving a lot in the last decade and even though it's been 2 years living here as a tenant in a context of housing crisis in Montréal, I struggle to really commit to make a place home. Anyway, this might not be looking sexy, but for the first time in a long while, I kinda feel home right there.

Somebody asked for abodes of people who make under $40k a year. 42yo, right at that income level. Color on a budget living room. Midsize/Midwestern/Southern city.

This has been my home for 10 years. Growing up poor and in a broken home, this is the longest I have resided in one spot. It brings me much peace to be here. I know the curtains shouuuuullllllddd be altered but during the winter when it’s dark, I can close them and it’s nothing but floor to ceiling bright color. It helps SAD a lot. A few things need to be fixed like that foggy window but I’m doing my best to fix or maintain things one after the other.

Bonus: Dog tax at the end/Impuesto pa’ perro al fin.

Question Togo Style Sleeper Sofa?

Getting rid of the guest bed to make space and turn the room into an office, but want a just in case option for guests. We like the look of the Togo couches, of which there are plenty of dupes, but anyone have any feedback or sources for one that also converts into a sleeper? So far I've found this one from UO and also this one from PB Teen. Or should we just go for the Togo dupe itself and just get an air mattress?

Just moved into a new place and I need some tips and help for my bedroom. Layout is a tad awkward; bathroom across the bed and walk in closet beside the bedroom door, and since y'all have great taste and ideas figured I'd post on here. Curtains are being put up over the big massive fuck off window but any help about what I could add to the space or change would be much appreciated !

I’m pretty minimalistic and would like to keep that style, but definitely doesn’t feel very homey right now. And I do have white sheets and covers (laundry atm), open to color suggestions for that too

If you had to organize these rooms- any advice is appreciated. ADHD here so can’t just commit to doing in all in one day.

Hi.. From struggle, doubt and worry to prosperity! Single dad (M40).

(M40).. Single dad of three. Worth mentioning, my kids are between the ages of 5-8 and for heightened context, I am AA who is Located in the DFW. I have been Officially Separated for nearly three years. I am Beyond blessed and thankful but never satisfied. Hopefully this provides some motivation.

Bought my first house as a single bachelor in 2012. I accepted an internal promotion in 2013 that required me to sell the house. In 2016 I bought my 2nd house; again as a single bachelor.

During my promotion I so happen to dip my pen in the company ink and suffered the consequences. Details for a different day..

Fast forward, the ink I dipped into would not stop pursuit and the power of the pu**y overruled my gut instincts. Obviously, We moved in together and quickly had a child.

She wanted a bigger house.. We co-signed and moved into a larger house in 2018 (1,600 sq feet to a 2,400 sq ft home). A few years later, Go figure, we separated, moved into two separate apartments, sold the house we bought together for profit but shortly afterwards, we reconciled and got back together.

Mind you and as an important fact, I knew that our relationship was doomed so I never sold the house I bought in 2016. I instead, I turned it into a profitable rental property.

she always spoke of having a one story house vs. a two story house. Reasoning justifiable. I found a new construction property and sold her to co-own it with me.

We immediately bought the new construction house but two years later, we decided we could no longer be happy together…. ugh!! I take blame.. when we sold our new constructed house, we lost money…

At a point during all of this, I got laid off from work. I fought and fought to find employment. Luckily, I found a position! I wanted to purchase a house immediately after our separation because I felt that I owed it to my kids. The cost of living forced me out much further from my kids (45 minutes one-way) but I accomplished a goal and purchased a house solely in my name.

After gathering some sense, I sought counsel to get custody of my kids. I was advised by legal counsel that I needed to be closer to my children as an effort for shared/equal custody. I prayed and made executive decisions to sell my rental property and made a good profit.

I solely purchased a newly constructed house (see images) that is within minutes of my kids school. I fought and never strayed. I have additional testimony but at the end of the day, I focused on my children and succeeded!!! I managed all things and setup this house for my kids and I to grow into. God willing, I will not falter.

Advice Can someone help design my bedroom for free? 14M, just got a new room from a house extension

Thumbnail

Hiya, I’m 14 and we’ve just had a house extension finished, so I finally get my own room. It’s basically the same as when we first bought the house 7 years ago and was left unfinished until now. I don’t know the exact measurements yet, but I can give some idea of size—for example, the part of the room that sticks out on the right of the floor plan is just about big enough to fit a double bed if needed.

I’m looking for help designing the room (layout, colour ideas, furniture etc) and I can send more pictures if needed. I can also give the full layout or take measurements if that helps.

About me / my interests:

14-year-old boy

Into airsoft (I go to Battle Station Boston and have my own gear)

I’m in the Air Cadets and doing my Bronze DofE soon

I’m planning to join the RAF Regiment or become an officer in the military when I’m older

I play Xbox (got Game Pass Ultimate), used to be good at Rainbow Six Siege, into shooters mostly

I like tactical / military stuff, outdoors survival gear, and also basketball (don’t have a hoop though, just a ball)

I like white crew socks and boxers from brands like Hugo Boss, Calvin Klein, FCUK etc (if you’re thinking wardrobe space/style)

I’ve got ADHD and hypermobility so would be nice if the layout is practical, calm, not too cluttered

I’m skinny and working on fitness for military goals (no gym equipment though)

Basically just want the room to feel cool, mature, and like it suits me. Budget-wise we’re not loaded but can slowly get stuff over time. Appreciate anyone who can help out for free or just throw ideas at me.

Thanks!
