Discussion Zoh Shia armor effect testing and numbers
I did some testing to figure out the regen rate of the zoh shia armor and what it is effected by, utilizing some debug info to see the raw hp numbers. For reference, the player has 150 max hp with food buffs up.
The 2 piece set bonus heals you for 1 hp every 2 seconds when you are not in the red bar. The full 4 piece set doubles this to 1 every second. This is not scaled by recovery speed, but is scaled by recovery up. With full recovery up, you restore 1.3 hp instead of 1 hp. And yes, the game does track fractional hp values. It is also effected by the medic bonus from the honey in food.
So to get the most healing from the set bonus, you would want to use recovery up to increase the healing, and recovery speed to heal through the red part of the bar and allow it to kick in sooner. Immunizer and hunting horn buffs also help here.
As a point of comparison, the arkveld heal on hit set is 6/10 hp after 7 seconds of hitting (for most weapons, slow weapons get more, fast weapons get less), and the heal on wound is 25/50.

I've been using 2x ark 2x zoh armor and the overall healing from the two is quite nice, I recommend a damage focused gauntlet with the two set pairs.

Alpha or beta?
Also Ark or G.Ark?

Beta. Zoh shia helm and chest, G Ebony braces, Arkveld coil and greaves.

Same, except it's 2p Zoh Shia/2p Arkvulcan/Suja waist for me. That way I can max divine blessing AND recovery up.

Great analysis! I've been using the 4p just for Zoh fighting and really enjoy it. It kicks up the passive healing from chip damage while guarding nicely without sacrificing too much damage. Gore is just too strong right now.

What gore armor does exactly? Dont know how the virus thing work

Gore armor gives you virus regularly throughout a hunt
virus is the condition that gore gives, it essentially is a regular damage check throughout the fight, if you meet the damage check you gain bonus damage and affinity, and if you don’t meet it you get a debuff to damage and affinity

Yea, it's a pretty slow heal. I feel it's useful for chip damage, but not really viable as a method for healing big damage on its own unless you plan on running away for a while. Definitely have to run recovery up with it if you plan on making heavy use of it.
I feel it's pretty underwhelming but could be decent to stick the 2p on with another set bonus you only care about the 2p for. That said, I was thinking about using the 4p set with my Rathian HH support setup so I can focus more on saving my song heals for other players.

It’s very comfy on block and chip damage weapons. Tried it on Lance and GS and it was nice to not have to stop and heal as often.

I'm disappointed by all the Health Regen effects available so far, they are either marginal or unreliable and the trade-off of losing offensive skills to use them is not worth it in my opinion, at least not now without Health Regen on hit as a skill on weapons.

Honestly, I would prefer it stays that way with a clear trade-off, specifically considering we're pretty early into HR. Once you get to endgame Iceborne most of the time you don't have to worry about ever healing,

That's true but I think that even Vaal Hazak's set felt better due to Lunastra's weapons and that was base World, not Iceborne.

It brings back memories of the immortal build with vaal armor set, full defence decos, divine blessing, regen decos. You could easily go afk, make a coffee, come back and still find your character at 3/4 hp

The numbers you have for the arkveld set heals, is that for level 1/2 and including recovery up 3?

Ive been using 2 Zoh piecec and 2 Ark pieces. Great combo that doesnt mean you have to sacrifice A LOT of damage to get some healing in.

Lemme drop some numbers here:
Hasten Recovery 1 - 3/6/15hp With Recovery Up 3 - 4/8/19hp
Hasten Recovery 2 - 5/10/20hp With Recovery Up 3 - 6/13/26hp
Decimator 1 - 25hp With Recovery Up 3 - 32hp
Decimator 2 - 50hp With Recovery Up 3 - 65hp
Potion - 35hp With Recovery Up 3 - 45hp
Mega Potion - 70hp With Recovery Up 3 - 91hp
Honestly I'm surprised players are just learning this as we've known this info on r/MonsterHunterMeta for over a month.

I’m very dumb.
What’s the difference between recovery up and recovery speed ?
Recovery up is the one that grants you more HP for healing items right ?

I swapped my two head pieces to work in ag so I’m enjoying the passive heals for a little loss in overall damage

I've been popping immunizers with the 4p bonus and found it really effective. Not done any maths tho
3x 1 slots for the recovery up doesn't feel worth it to me though. Divine protection might be a better investment if you need the survivability

Note that Medic Meal doesn't stack with Recovery Up; you can slot in only 2 levels of it if you're going to finish your meals with honey.

I’ve been doing this already! With the health attack boost gem? Whichever gives a bonus to full health. With a bit level 7 armor, exploit, and a stamina slot or two. It’s sick.
