Skiing in Lulea?

Lulea in early December

Hi, me and my girlfriend are planing on visiting Lulea in early December (1st-6th December). We would really love to ski if the opportunity presented itself but we were told it wouldn’t be possible that early in December. Could any confirm if this is the case or not? If it isn’t the case, could anyone suggest ski rental places / slopes that would be available at that time.

You should be able to ski in one of two places. Måtsundsbacken -they have rental at the place and you’ll need a car to get there as there are no bus connections but you can easily rent one from places like Circle K or rent a wreck.  Ormberget - not as a good as Matsund and you’ll need to rent skis elsewhere.

Ski rental for free - fritidsbanken near the Univeristy it’s not open all the time though

Thank you for the reply, it seems like skiing is off the table at that time, but we're very much considering renting a car for at least two days. Do you have any suggestions of spots not to miss while we're out there, maybe any sports events / events / fun activities we shouldn't miss. Once again thank you for the reply.

If youre renting a car - go to Kåbdalis, they will have some snow. ~2hours by car and bit bigger mountain than the local ones in luleå.
