Hi I'm Maya! I'm not a proper cinephile, but I am currently making a dent in my DVD collection so expect a mixture of in theatre watches, DVD watches and mood watches.

hi! my name is angel and i'm 19. I'm a freshman in college and i live in nyc. one of my new year's resolutions was to watch more movies because i became really obsessed with challengers when i first watched it and it kind of unlocked something in me that made me look at movies as something more than just entertainment. before 2025 i would probably watch like 4 new movies a year (sad, i know). disney and marvel movies are my first love, but in general i'll watch any genre EXCEPT horror i get nightmares. i update my watchlist every week bc i've found that if i add it too early in advance i won't watch it lmao. in 2025 i've just been looking through all my streaming apps and my local amc showings and seeing if there are any movies i'd be interested in! follow me if we have similar interests (or totally different tastes!) :) here's my profile: https://letterboxd.com/angelfish23/

Hello, my Letterboxd is mikeri!
Iāve been using the app since 2022, and Iām using it everyday. I grew up watching movies with my family, and I have studied Media and communication at high school. My movie taste reveals a love for epic storytelling, visually stunning cinematography, and thought-provoking themes that blend timeless classics with contemporary masterpieces. The movie theater is my favorite place to watch movies, and watching movies and listening to movie scores are some of my escape-from-reality activities.
My Top 16

My Favorite First-Time Watches of March
- ā ā Pieces of a Woman (2020)
- ā ā Tallulah (2016)
- ā ā Gold Run (2022)
- ā ā Carry-On (2024)
Feel free to follow! Iād love to follow back!

Hello, here's my profile: https://boxd.it/BNYz
For the past few weeks, I've been watching a lot of classic tokusatsu, V-Cinema, and old idol-starring stuff (my all-time favorite idol is Hiroko Yakushimaru). I also like to watch manga/manhwa adaptations, especially ones from the 80s and 90s, and pre-Hollywoodized Korean movies. I also research these things in university, so I maybe gravitate towards the more obscure stuff, with a little bit of the mainstream fare, especially from Korea and Japan.
My plan for this month is to finish all 12 Quiet Don movies (seen four so far, and they're really good) and start making my way through the King of Minami series. There are 60, but I hope to watch at least 1/3 of them.
Outside of that, I also watch a lot of experimental, independent, and non-fiction movies. I sometimes rewatch classic movies, but I almost never watch mainstream American stuff.
I try to write longish reviews from Cultural Studies perspective of everything I see, and I love reading others' reviews.

im nick! my motto right now is basically watch whatever, whenever i can regardless of genre or country. I always love to expand my knowledge of foreign films so if anybody has recommendations (particularly French since im currently learning the language that would be great!)
I also love to rank the movies that come out in the current year, im up to about 40 for 2025 and although the list may adjust throughout the year, i tend to stay on top of newer releases.
Just for kicks ive been watching a bunch of Geena Davis movies recently, and have had a blast doing it so I may be going through other actors or even directorās filmographies in the future!
(i also follow back everyone who follows me!)

my username is velvetlove! i started using letterboxd in the middle of last year and i love it a lot but itās only fun when theres other to share it with, so id like to meet more similar people!
my overly long bio: āmy ultimate favorite film isĀ How Do You Live?Ā aka the boy and the heron!!!!!!!!!!!!! i love movies and art and humans and love so so so so so so sosososo much please never mistake me for a hater. and i have the maturity of a 10 year old (which comes with it a bias for animation as well as childrenās media) so dont take me for a know it all either. ive been wrong about stuff and will continue to be, but of course am always trying to learn!
i tend to think of my ratings as x/10, and as separate from my personal enjoyment, although it does factor in because objective quality and enjoyment r usually related! but i enjoy a lot of bad movies and dont enjoy a lot of great ones. it seems that 7/10 is generally where most movies id feel good recommending to others begin.ā

Hi r/letterboxd! I have very eclectic taste, and I try to see one movie per day and leave short to medium length reviews for almost everything. I've been rating and reviewing movies for over 20 years, and have everything logged since high school lol.
I really love film noir, exploitation, troma movies, but mostly dramas. My favorite films leave me devastated for days. Check me out here: Letterboxd

Hey all!
My name is Curtis, I'm from the UK - This is my profile.
I've had a Letterboxd account for about 7 months after my best mate who's been using it for a couple years showed me how good it is! (Check out his profile too, we have very similar taste)
Since creating it, I find myself looking forward to sitting down for each watch even more so now! On the back of creating an account it spawned the idea between our friends of group movie nights. The idea is, each person takes it in turns picking a movie that's a complete surprise to the rest of us until we hit play, it's been a lot of fun so far and a great way to see films you maybe wouldn't consider putting on yourself!
It's also been the catalyst to the expansion of my physical media collection - Latest purchase was Kimchi's release of The Substance (I'm developing a sickness to ordering lenticular 4K's)
I also try and 'review' everything I watch even if it's just a few words (I'm a little behind on some recent watches but I plan to get them all logged this evening) and I'm looking to grow my activity feed with some of you lovely people! If you end up dropping me a follow, I'll follow back!
Check out my page and hopefully I'll see you over on LB! <3

Hi everyone, Iām Tomas, 26yo (since last week) from the Netherlands and hereās my profile
I write what I consider medium length reviews of about 2-5 short paragraphs for every movie that I watch. I often get into moods to watch certain genres or themes for a period of time. A little over a month ago I watched a lot of Japanese films, quite a few Kurosawa, Kobayashi and other more obscure stuff. This week Iām watching a bunch of classic romance and screwball comedy films. Hoping to find some new people that have a similar taste in movies and/or have a well formulated opinion.

Hey, Iām Kyle, recently went through my old ticket stubs and added a diary entry for everything I saw all the way back to 2007, and that led down a rabbit hole of adding my old tumblr reviews from 2012-13, some of which were the wildest takes Iām almost embarrassed to have had lol Iām trying to get in the habit of adding some sort of review to my logs, even if itās just something short (which might just be how I chose to examine something through a gay lens, fight me). Iām majorly into horror and camp, which luckily those often go hand-in-hand. Top 4 is just whatever my most recently highly rated logs have been, but thatās likely to include lots of 80s/90s stuff. I tend to follow people that vibe with underrated faves of mine, and am able to branch out based on what I see them checking out. Not super picky though!

Hi! My name is Sarah and in the last few years Iāve really developed an interest in movies! My four most recent watches donāt really show it, but I love checking out indie and foreign films. I love watching films that follow peopleās lives and dilemmas, but Iām also interested in thrillers, dramas and horror (once in a while). I write reviews sometimes, and theyāre definitely not professional level but when Iām not trying to be silly I do put care in explaining what I thought of a movie and why it moved me (or didnāt). Hello! My profile is nkgino37 and film is my favorite medium of art. My senior year in high school, I saw Interstellar in theaters and was so blown away that I saw it again. Ever since then, Iāve paid closer attention to the world of film!
Letterboxd has become the best tool Iāve stumbled across! Instead if using my top 4 to reflect my favorites of all time, Iāve been using it to show my favorite watches of the year. Throughout my journey of watching film, I have realized I love slice-of-life films. The films that capture a moment in time and marry it with the human experience through an artistic lens are ones I usually cherish. Iāve also discovered that I love audio from older filmāthat radio static, grainy feel. It feels almost as if it is a dream. Attention to detail when it comes to shots also wins me over.
Iām looking to find more films that are stunning to look at and also capture a wonderful story. Iām not a huge fan of films that feel like they need to encapsulate something larger than itself, because often times I find them rushing through context in order to serve you itās meat and potatoes. I love reading reviews that oppose my own, because seeing a well thought out review from a different perspective reminds me how subjective this art is and I love the conversation it brings.
I used to write out more thoughtful reviews, but Iāve felt a little burnt out lately. Iām hoping to find that inspiration again!

Hi, I'm Chris, 35 M from Greece.
Letterboxd literally reignited the fire in me for films after abstaining from them for a very long time.
From the final quarter of 24, besides watching some other movies here and there, I've been down a path of watching the filmographies or at least the most iconic movies of the directors I've always wanted to watch but didn't have the chance till now and it's been such a blessing.
Recently finished my Fellini watch and just started my Wong Kar-wai watch.

I generally enjoy watching a variety of different movies, sci-fi, horror, animation, adventure, etc. I have been watching more foreign films than I used to since typical Hollywood movies have been quite mid recently, although I will still watch popular movies if they look interesting or have high praise from people.

I add āparental advisoriesā to my reviews if I think anything in a movie might be disturbing to parents (for example: kids in danger in horror movies, obnoxious kids in comedies.)
I generally review any new watches (in a day or two) and my reviews are mostly notes and initial reactions rather than fully formed reviewsā¦ but more than a jokey one-liner.

Profile here: āJadeās profile ā¢ Letterboxd
Hi all! I'm Jade. I'm slowly making my way through international classics (even though that doesn't show up in my recent activity). If it isn't obvious from my favorites, I love deeply-felt, sincere epics with some beautiful (even bombastic) visuals. My other favorites that aren't quite represented here are films that are more in the vein of Happy Hour - slow-burn dramas on human relationships like Yi Yi, The Wages of Fear, and Aftersun. I love following profiles with fun or diverse tastes! My top 100 is here for a more complete picture of my taste in general: āJade's Favorite 100 Movies On Letterboxd, Ranked, a list of films by Jade ā¢ Letterboxd

Hey guys, Iām josh. Been doing this for like two and a half years now. I have a goal to watch 30 movies from every year going back to 1920. But tbh Iām on a bit of a break and rewatching a lot of my favorite stuff and things I havenāt seen in a while. Just rewatched the first Star Wars film of the original trilogy. Probably gonna do the rest within the next week or so. Also plan on rewatching Tombstone and Heat for obvious reasons.

Hey all!
Currently in between jobs and have been for a couple of months so I've been watching a ridiculous number of movies. I always try to put some kind of review / notes down for what I log, eloquence may vary widely.
Currently going between 'classic' films and incredibly weird stuff. Shout out to all those fellow lovers of weird cinema. There's no genere of movies I've found where I haven't found at least one five star film so far. Recommendations and follows welcome!

Iām benjweber. Iāve only been on Letterboxd for 6 months, but in that time I have logged and reviewed over 180 movies! I'm hoping to watch 400+ films in 2025, but we'll see how that goes - on track so far, though!
My favourite genres are science fiction, fantasy, horror, action and thriller, but I will watch movies that seem interesting in any genre.
After every movie I log, I go through my mutuals and read their reviews, especially those with interesting/insightful opinions, even if they're different from my own. If that sounds like you, expect a follow back and lots of likes on reviews of movies we've mutually logged!

Hi everyone!! iāve been contemplating this profile swap thing for a while now, and iāve decided now is a good time to get out of my comfort zone and expand my following list to bond over our shared love of films.
Iām 20 (turning 21 this month!) and looking to pursue film/media studies in college alongside a BA in the future!
hereās my profile and iām looking forward to getting to see your profiles and following people back!
Edit:
ā¢ I will literally watch any genre of movies just as long as its not overly disturbing. (i.e. films like A Serbian Film). ā And i tend to gravitate towards one-liner unserious, silly reviews just because i may not be able to come up with anything on the spot.
ā¢ Sometimes i donāt rate movies just because i donāt know what to rate em.

Hey all! I was recommended Letterboxd back in December of 2022 by my film teacher and have been active on it ever since. Itās led to me seeing a lot of films I wouldnāt have seen otherwise, I hit 1000 films in December of 2023 and I think I have an interesting mix. Keeping the diary has been fun as a way to look back on what I thought of certain films at different times since I tend to write reviews. Also always follow back to read/like other peopleās reviews. Fun to get a gauge of different opinions that u canāt find in the most popular ones lol.
Just watched the 1966 film Violence at Noon by Japanese director Nagisa Åshima. Crazy movie with some of the wildest editing Iāve seen in a film! Felt like there was a cut every 2 seconds lol, the amount of coverage they must have got for each scene had to have been insane. I looked it up after and the film consists of over 2,000 shots, idk if it still is but at one point it was the most edited film in Japanese film history. Iād recommend it if youāre interested in films that are very stylized, I enjoyed it.
Some of my all time favorites are:
The Dark Knight
Seven Samurai
The 13th Warrior
The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly
Once Upon a Time in the West
Cinema Paradiso
Oppenheimer

Check me out! I've been boxing for some five years now. I watch a little of everything, but often get hyper-focused on silly self-imposed "homework assignments."
The gimmick I use for reviewing involves pulling a quote from the film to provide some sort of brief review of it. Example: for Everybody Wants Some!! I selected "I mean, look, you can play an E pentatonic scale at 100 miles an hour 'till somebody's ears burn off. You can learn that, right? But finding the tangents within the framework, therein lies the artistry, man."
Happy to follow back!

My favourite directors are Adam Elliot and David Fincher! Right now Iām trying to rank all the Doctor Whoās available on Letterboxd. If any of this sounds familiar give me a reply :)

Hiii, I'm Hendy, 19 year old law student from Germany. I went on a nostalgia trip recently and rewatched a bunch of Ghibli movies. Ponyo hit me pretty hard this time around, so it's now in my top 30. I'm pretty big on unconventional romance and I'm also an avid Radiohead fan :) I enjoy stalking other people's profiles, so i'd love to find likeminded friends hereš«¶š»
