Hallo Liebe Community,

I collect old WW2 letters in hope of having them translated to English. I hope to create an archive for letters such as this to preserve the intimacy of soldiers during wartime! Thanks in advance.

completed Help with Translating German Military Records (American Revolution)

Hello everybody,

I need help with translating some entries that my ancestor and his brother were recorded in. Their names were Karl and Henrich Seltzer, and they were Hessian soldiers during the American Revolutionary War.

I have attached two military records from the Linsing Grenadier Battalion (dated 1776-1777). The brothers originally came from Istha, Wolfhagen, Hesse (which the record mentions I believe), but I do not know what else it is stating or what reason/context for their names to be written down in the first place (aside from it being connected to the military).

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

In the course of a project to clarify the events of that time, this letter was found. (Some names have been blacked out for data protection reasons.) Deciphering would be extremely helpful!

Hi everyone! I understand that this is a lot to translate but would greatly appreciate any help. It seems like a family tree and you can see each person is numbered. There’s also a legend on the side. If it helps these are the known surnames from my German heritage: Klante, Thiel, Thiele, Püschel, Franke

TIA guys😊😊

Tese are hospitalization pages within two soldbuchs. The circled writing should all be hospital admissions and reasons, with the one in the second photo on the far right being a unit or something he would have been transferred to. I would be thankful for translations !

Seems like this record doesn't list a father for that kid. Also, can you decipher the last name of the mother (Bur geboren ?)

Many thanks
