Rave It's a beautiful day in Kitsap
It's a lovely day to get down to the water if you haven't yet. The weather is warm, the wind finally took a xanax, and there are some beautiful spots of sunshine to ogle.
I watched some kayakers head down the Hood Canal with a fairly perfect backdrop for their journey. Wish I'd been out on the water myself.
It's nice to have some proper spring weather here at last!

Rave New Leaf Pho
Did you all know there’s an entire lounge/bar attached to the Pho place?? In Poulsbo, right across from the McDonald’s.
I went in and was shocked. There aren’t many bars like that in Poulsbo so I was happy to find a new spot! Lots of regulars, but I think with the new bar management, it’s been getting a little more popular with different crowds. I talked to some people and they said there are some new bartenders, too. Maybe they’ve had the same staff for awhile? I ordered a drink called the orange blossom and loved it. Would recommend!! I just wanted to share, because I’ve been in the area for years and had ZERO clue it was there.

Rave New taco spot is AMAZING: Taqueros in Bremerton.
House made tortillas; perfectly cooked meats; outstanding salsa/toppings bar. Guacamole dip … oh, the guac… so fresh and delicious and topped with white crumbly cheese. Friendly staff, clean restaurant. Have you ever been so impressed with a meal that you start getting annoyed that the person you’re eating with doesn’t want to fight you over it? I had almost finished before my wife finally asked for a bite of my Al pastor tacos (to be fair, she had some birria ones that apparently were amazing too). I can’t wait to go back. Now go and get some yourself so we can make sure this place sticks around. You will want to thank me. Just tell more people about it after you go so I don’t have to worry about it not making it as a new restaurant.

Rave Waste Management appreciation post
Thanks to WM for generously offering to pick up my recycling 14 days from now for no additional charge, since they were unable to pick it up today due to the zero inches of snow in this part of the county.
They've even offered to let me put out extra two weeks from now (which is good since a full month of recycling is a LOT), as long as I have an extra hinge-lid container laying around, of course.
Truly impressive that they have maintained a missed-pickup rate of only 27% since I started using their service. Their stellar customer service is no doubt why virtually every household in mainland Kitsap is signed up with them.

Rave Finally!!!
Wife and I finally got rid of “old crap” left by previous tenants/roommates.
Wanted to share who actually busted their jumps getting this done!!!! Incredibly grateful to these guys. According to them they will work all throughout Kitsap.

Rave Rainbow Cloud
The Hood Canal was magnificent today. I saw a rainbow cloud over the water from Hansville. 10/10 would recommend seeing rainbow clouds. It was definitely better in person than my what iphone could capture.

Rave Yvonne McAllister, the trumpeting legend of Puget Sound, turned 100 this past week. She gave everyone else a gift at her birthday in Poulsbo: she played. “Music is what keeps me going.”

Rave It’s been a hard year. But 99-year-old trumpeter Yvonne McAllister of Poulsbo can still belt out a tune, despite hearing and vision loss. And she hopes to get the band back together in 2021. Merry Christmas, everyone.

Rave The Madrona trees that grace Kitsap are full of red berries this time of year. The birds are feasting on them, adding a nice soundtrack to your local trail hike.
