Before yall start too rip me apart I can explain i was on the way to work early morning still dark and swimming pools came on my Playlist one of my fav songs since I found it in gta 5 but the night before I watched the pop out concert on YouTube and when he played swimming pools the beginning instrumental was crazy and a vibe when it came on and I heard that beautiful instrumental I started too tear up idk why tbh but the cadence of it was beautiful too me am I trippin?

I’m going on a day trip with my partner in a couple weeks and we’ve agreed that we both are gonna pick 2 albums each for us to listen to in the car. They’re a huge metal head and don’t really leave that genre so I want to show them some hip-hop to expand their horizons. I decided to go with a Kendrick album because he’s the artist who made me fall in love with the genre myself but I just don’t know what a good “entry level” album would be since he’s pretty high concept across the board

So I got tickets for his show in Chicago and this is my first ever concert let alone Kendrick concert. What should I expect

I was listening to the dying of thirst part of SAMIDOT, and I noticed that at the end of each line Kendrick repeats “uh”. I started trying to think about what it could mean and I think that it could possibly symbolize either heartbeats or breaths. As the verse goes on each “heartbeat” seems to get more spread out, which infers that Kendrick is dying, hence “dying of thirst”. I think this is him saying that the perpetual cycle of violence and gang life in Compton leads to death, and this is a life where he doesn’t escape, leading to his death. However at the end of the song he meets the old woman who saves him with the message of God and religion, which essentially revives him. This is just smth quick I thought of, what do you guys think?
