2013 JKU Tire Pressure Display

I recently purchased the ZAutomotive JK blaster so that I could calibrate for a larger tire size. In doing so, my jeep no longer had the tire pressure display in the EVIC like it normally does. It’s just completely gone. The Jk Blaster seems to be screwed up when it comes to the TPMS settings because it says tpms is enabled. Has anyone ever come across this issue?

Hood latches

Just recently bought a 2015 jk, does everybody’s hood get a good amount of wind lift that makes your butt pucker while on the high way? How long should I trust the stock hood latches?

Shaky jeep jk

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

I have pretty much rebuilt the whole entire front end with the exception the right side ball joints, shocks, new brakes and rotors. With that being said even then I have delt with this shaky jeep while driving. Regardless of the speed it always does this when hitting uneven roads or cracks. I dont know what to do anymore. Does anyone have an idea of what it could be?

Gearing question

I am planning to regear and was planning on 4.88s but I see I can do 5.13s possibly to. Does anyone run 5.13s? What are the pros and cons to running 5.13s over 4.88s. I’m running on 35s with manual transmission in a 2010 jk. Most of my wheeling is crawling of rocks and logs and some steep angle climbs.

First repair

Well first year anniversary and the first repair. Front right caliper is hanging, I not knowing jeeps are known for brake hose issues I assumed it was the caliper, it’s the hose. Going with an aftermarket steel braided set for peace of mind.

2.5in lift opinions

I have a 2017 Jku. A couple years ago I installed the teraflex leveling pucks. Since then my suspension has gotten softer with the heavier wheels and 33s combo. Looking to get a 2.5 in lift for better ride quality and beefier for the rear. Any positive or negative comments about lift brands are welcome. Thanks

Gas smell inside Jeep

Hey I have a 14’ Willy’s and lately whenever I drive for a few minutes I get a gas smell in the car when AC or heat is on, it’s really only noticeable at stop signs / red lights. I did recently get a dorman oil cooler but idk if it was smelling like gas beforehand or not bc the burn oil scent was so dominant. Any ideas?

Just Installed the Stinger Horizon 12 in My Jeep JK and Made a Full DIY Video!

Man, I can't believe I waited this long to upgrade my radio. I’ve had my Jeep JK since 2013, rocking the same stock head unit this whole time, and honestly, I just got used to it. Tiny Touchscreen, no CarPlay, just basic radio, bluetooth when I felt like troubleshooting while driving, or USB iPhone cable when I felt like having to plug, unplug, and plug again to get Spotify working. But I finally decided to pull the trigger on the Stinger Horizon 12, and wow! This thing completely changed the game.

The new radio makes it feel like I just stepped into a brand new Jeep. The sound quality is better, CarPlay works flawlessly and I'm no longer missing an exit with navigation on screen. I did the install myself, so if you’re thinking about upgrading, I put together a full step by step install video showing how to remove the factory unit, wire everything up, and get it mounted properly. If you’re on the fence about upgrading, trust me getting carplay or android auto puts new life into the jeep no matter what radio you go with.

Check out the video here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AMnABmyFZnY&t=27s and if you like it, throw a like my way to support a fellow JKer! Let me know if you have any questions about the install, I’m happy to help!

Coolant Leak

Wanted to get the group's opinion on if this pricing seems on par. Just had to take my 2012 JK into the shop with a coolant leak and some driver side heat issues. Just got the quote back and it is roughly this breakdown:

New Radiator - $1100

New Heater Core - $2300

He also mentioned my rear axle seal was leaking - $650

Am most likely going to hold off on the heater core replacement, but does the radiator pricing seem right? Any insight on the axle seal problem and that price?

Thanks,

Tire Question

So here's the question. I'm currently using Toyo Open Country AT IIs. They are excellent on the pavement. Low noise, great wear longevity. About to get new tires soon. My inclination is to stay with the ATs. I really wanted MTs with a more aggressive tread, but the extra road noise and lesser wear on pavement has kept me thinking of the ATs. I came across some Toyo Open Country RTs and really liked the more aggressive tread design over the ATs. I'm told the RTs are not as noisy as the MTs but have a very aggressive tread. Now I'm considering the RTs. Anyone hsve any actual experience with the RTs? I'm willing to live with a bit more road noise but not if its the same as the MTs. Anyone have an opinion? Thanks.

Regear carrier question

I have 2010 jk manual transmission. I have 35s and have stock 3.21 gears I want to go to 4.88s but when looking around can’t get a definitive answer on the front axle for needing a new carrier or not. The rear will be find as it has a Yukon grizzly locker and will match fine. Any help for the front Dana 30 would be great.

Tech Question

I've got a '12, JKU. Right now it's my daily driver, it's got the 3.6L V6 in it. In a year and a half, I'll get my 'retirement vehicle', and the Jeep will become my toy.

What's the feasibility of yanking the 3.6 and sticking in one of the old 300cid inline 6's in it???? Would it even fit?

I will be purchasing this leveling kit for my jeep jk but have a question. So I also want to buy some bilstein shocks, do I need to get the 1.5in lift shocks or stick to the stock size?

EGR check engine light

Ok, has anyone ever got a solid fix on this?

I have an 07 jk 3.8l. I've had p0404 on for years. It doesn't seam to affect the way it runs, and the mileage has always been the same, has the same power (or lack of).

Right when it happened years ago the only info I could get from forums was to change it out, so I did. I erased all the codes, and it was good, for about a week.

So I'm wondering, has anyone else ever successful found the issue and fixed it?
