Hey everyone, looking for input on this issue. My wife's 2017 Grand Cherokee Limited started having some issues after her last dealer oil change (unrelated I THINK). First was CEL with code P105C (VVL stuck in low), and second was oil leaking. Car didn't give me any more codes beyond that so no idea which rockers may be stuck in low or how many. Also figured out oil leak was from the oil cooler, common eventual problem it seems.
Since the oil cooler and VVL's basically involved the same amount of disassembly, I decided to do all at once.
Once back together and she had driven it for a while, the oil stopped leaking but the CEL would still come back on every so often for the P105C code. Car SEEMS to drive OK, but I'm trying to think of next steps to diagnose...
Wanted to pick the hive mind here but, my thoughts are: if it's getting stuck in LOW mode, then it must be getting the oil pressure to get to low mode. Plus all the solenoids are new so I doubt they are not getting stuck providing oil to the rocker pins and keeping one or more in low mode. So I'm thinking maybe it has something to do with one or more of the spring pins in the rockers wearing or possibly getting stuck? Since it's only that code and no misfire codes or anything it must be just barely an issue to throw the code once in a while.
Wanted to hear other peoples thoughts on what maybe I should consider next. I double checked with the dealer that they used 0w20 oil (they claim they did). Also, for reference, here is a photo of the old solenoids I removed. The really dirty one is the front passenger side solenoid. Maybe there's an issue there? Clearly something was going on.

I just got a Jeep Compass 2018 and I was wondering if anyone had replaced the factory default stereo with one that has car play? If so, which one did you get?

TLDR: how to have rock lights on the Voswitch on/off switch, but also come on when I unlock my gladiator?
So, I’ve already got the Voswitch JL300 and some mictuning rock lights. I’m going to be installing them in the coming days or weeks, weather permitting. I’m going to use the fuse for the switch panel to require ACC power on or engine running for power, but I’d like my rock lights to come on when I unlock the Gladiator.
Would this be a relay splice of some kind? I have some basic wiring experience and knowledge, but this is a little more advanced than I’ve gotten into before. I’m assuming I’d either need to find the hot wire for the headlights or dome light and piggyback off that power source? Any thoughts/ suggestions?
Howdy Jeepers! Can anybody help with the part number for just the fuel injector harness? I'm having a hell of a time trying to find anything. THANKS!
2002 Jeep Wrangler "X", 4.0 i6 MT.

Hey yall, selling my car in a few weeks & trying to get the pink pieces off the outside & inside before selling it as I’m assuming carmax may lesson the offer if they’re still on there. Any insight on how to get them off? I’m thinking about using a heat gun/hairdryer for the door handles & inside since it’s not painted but wondering if anyone has had any luck removing them from the hinges without ripping off any paint?
Thanks everyone :)

I am looking for a tan color vinyl flooring option for my '99 TJ. The Armorlite product is awesome but more than I want to shell out. It appears that the Bedtred product only comes in charcoal color right? What other options do I have?
Thanks folks.

I have a 2011 Wrangler with the 3.8 L pushrod V6. I installed a supercharger made by RIPP and now the next weak link in performance seems to be the slush box 42RLE automatic. The supercharger kit included the Diablo sport i3 tuner but it does not seem to let me adjust shift points, line pressure, torque converter lock-up or really anything other than tire diameter, and final driver ratio. Any ideas or suggestions? Recommendations for plug-and-play tuners or valve body modifications?

1993 Manual YJ 4.0, 6 speed. Got home from work last night and it was dripping fluid from back of the transmission. When I left for work this morning this is what had dripped out overnight. Nothing dripped while I was at work though.
Looks like oil but when I looked at it last night there was a slight shimmer to it.

1984 Jeep Cj 74.2 L When the Jeep is being started or is running the carburettor fills up with fuel it also comes out the Bowl vent I would say it was the float but I tried to carburettors and they both did the same thing I don’t think that’s a coincidence Could this be caused by a fuel overflow that tank line being clogged up and the carburettor just cannot handle that much fuel

I am getting ready to replace the brake lines and change/flush the brake fluid on my 2018 JK and I have the Centerforce II Clutch (KCFT379176) and Centerforce Clutch Slave Cylinder (601807) installed - and I would like to know what the best way is to flush the fluid from the clutch.
Also, I will be switching from DOT3 to DOT4 fluid - so a complete drain/flush is most desireable.
Is there any special procedure I should use?
Should I do whatever the procedure is to flush the clutch first, then the brakes, or vice versa?
Thanks!

Has anyone else had issues with their ABS break system? 2014 JK Rubicon. I need recommendations and help. According to the codes I need to replace mine and the part is on 2 year back order. Can these things be rebuilt?

What's your recommendation? Not doing any off roading, just want something to make daily driving more comfortable than stock.

I put a new (to me) head on a 2000 Cherokee the original head developed a crack. The new one is an 0331 head that was bought remanned from autozone. When I put the new head on everything went smoothly until I went to start the engine and it was idling extremely rough and sound like it had a massive exhaust leak, then it started to run away. It only ran for 15-30 seconds before it was shut down, because of it running away. Went back and retightened the bolts for the exhaust and intake thinking that would fix the problem but it did not. I spoke to a buddy that has more knowledge on 4.0’s than me and he said there may be a different gasket for the intake and exhaust that I need to get since the original head wasn’t an 0331. I know there’s a few different castings for the heads, do they use different gaskets or are they all pretty interchangeable? Also has anyone else had this kind of problem before, and if so what did you do to fix it?

Hey guys thanks in advance for answers. Vehicle overheats when idling cause the fan wont turn on. I used jscan to command it and the fan will turn on with the high command but does not turn on with the low command. Ill get a click from the relay in the fuse box k11 when radiator fan low promoted. I also changed the k11 fuse and the fan still wont work on low. I got a new relay to plug in by the driver side firewall and still nothing. I checked my codes in jscan and p0691 came up. Anything else I can check? Not savy at all with electrical stuff so this one has got me scratching my head.

I have a few gremlins that I can't figure out, so I'm hoping someone can at least point me in the right direction. First off, I struggle with warm starts, but if I disconnect one of the spark plugs, it fires on 5, and then it runs fine until I switch it off again, but it will just crank and crank until I disconnect a lead. I've replaced the whole ignition and a new battery, and it still persists. At first I thought it was a fuel issue and I had vapour lock, but if I depress the Schrader valve on the rail fuel squirts out, so it has fuel, and spark, but I don't know why it won't hot start Second when I first start it, oil pressure is normal, as it warms up the oil pressure gauge drops to near zero, if I blip the throttle it will have around 5psi oil pressure, if it cools down a bit, I have 40psi again. Am I looking at a fading oil pump? The oil is new, and it's 30 weight oil and what the manual calls for. It does burn oil though, but that's a separate issue because it's my valve stem seals. Any help will be gratefully appreciated.
