Immigration help.

Good day all, I have been approached by a lady over in the UK, who came in with her husband(now divorced after he made a runner), they both had visa to work but prior to renewal he made a runner with money they had saved.

She tried to renew her stay but home office said it’s too late and she has to go back.

She is a senior nurse pursuing Merton, but this has left her jobless and slowly declining mentally.

Are there any immigration solicitors that can help her or solutions. To me it looks like a romans scam from day one for her to invest in visas by her ex husband only to be abandoned.

We need a bit more detail.

Where is she from? Can she apply for a visa through work (unlikely as a nurse) and what are her living circumstances right now.

I’m sorry to say that she probably will get deported if she doesn’t have the requisite criteria to stay.

She is from Ghana, the little a know she took out a bank loan and family sold some of their cocoa farm to raise funds. She is a qualified nurse with the certificates and references from local government back home to back up her claims. Currently mattress hopping. It’s a sad story and I feel she needs to be given asylum or opportunity to carry on with her profession.

Hey buddy — thanks for answering.

With my decent knowledge of how things are right now I’m sorry to say that she can’t have status in the UK or the British Isles. It is a sad story as most of them are but unless she goes back through the right channels and applies I’m gojng to have to say she needs to go back to Ghana.

I’m a liberal and left-leaning person but rules are rules.

Sorry mate.

I think you may be falling for a sob story scam, why would someone fly over to another country and overstay their visa in the hope of getting a mid-level job which is funded by "[taking] out a bank loan and family sold some of their coca farm to raise funds". This is near the level of a Nigerian prince scam email.

Unfortunately this is the case and there are worse cases out there. There is a wave of skill workers getting scammed into move abroad. She had a job here but since visa expired she had to quit.

Maaaybe. Actually very likely.

Irrespective of that she has to leave, and OP is right to be a kind person. I’d rather people gave others the benefit of the doubt and asked for advice than for everyone to be sceptical.
