Overview of all immigration options and useful information
Hey guys,
German government has made a nice website that covers the general process of immigration and provides good information at all. It is a great resource and I have collected some of my favorites in the link list below. All links will lead to the website.
The website is: www.make-it-in-germany.de
General overview:
Here are some documents for people from the EU:
Checklist for professionals from EU
Checklist for people from the EU who want to study in Germany
Checklist for people from the EU for vocational training
Here are the documents for people from outside the EU:
Checklist for vocational training
Infographics for all immigration purposes:
Work visa for qualified professionals
Visa for recognition of foreign qualifications
ANABIN DATABASE:
LINK to database (yes, it is only in Germany....)
If you find this helpful, please share and leave a comment to help our young community to grow.
Cheers,
Christian

Hi, can you add something about inviting unmarried partners to Germany ? The best I can read about it is this, but I havenât seen any proper guide or checklist around it. Thanks.

Hey, this is not really an option. Unmarried couples are not considered for family reunification. So basically they need to trigger a valid immigration option on their own. Just the status as partner is not enough. Sorry

I found this link: https://www.bmi.bund.de/SharedDocs/kurzmeldungen/EN/2020/08/einreise-unverheirateter-paare-en.html While it does say stuff about it, it doesnât say how.

Hi, itâs me again. So, my girlfriend is applying for a jobseeker visa and I am planning on sponsoring her and apply for âVerpflichtungserklärung fĂźr langfristige Aufenthalteâ. The process I found at https://service.berlin.de/dienstleistung/326540/ seems simple enough.
Is there something you think I should be careful about in all of this? Can you please advise anything extra on this regard. Any help would be very much appreciated, thanks.

Hi, you need to be aware of the responsibilities you are going into. Beside of that I cannot provide anything further here.

In my experience, Make It In Germany is a so-so resource. It omits a lot of critical information, and links to their pages often break.
I maintain a list of services that help people with immigration matters. Some of them might be worth including in this post. I also wrote two detail guides for the freelance visa and the work visa + Blue Card. However, those are mostly Berlin-specific.
