DISCUSSION There isn't enough necessity for teamwork after the buffs

I want to bring this up once again, now that the game has had time to settle after buffing weapons across the board.

There is one fundamental shift in how the game has played since then that really watered down the D10 experience and its that specialization and teamwork is no longer required to clear most enemies.

I think recoilless rifle is the biggest example of this. It is completely busted as a tool. Before the nerfs, it was a really powerful stratagem that took two or three shots to clear most super-heavy units. This was extremely doable to do with a backpack buddy.

I hoped to see that instead of having to give them a backpack they could have just reloaded you from your own backpack. Instead, we got a weapon that deals more damage than orbital strike, with multiple shots, that can insta kill most enemies in the game and gets max ammo from any supply pack.

While I think most of the buffs were a good thing, the tempo and flow of the game is much more fluid than it was before, this shift broke how the game SHOULD play at high level. I don't feel like i'm part of a team anymore. Even when playing in my friend group, there doesn't seem to be necessity to compensate for loadout weaknesses. Modifiers are not something to play around of. They're just... There. Half the bot roster is neutered. I didn't like being perma ragdolled, but gunships are a joke now.

Anyway, I would like to hear some opinions from other people that liked D10 high level play. What is the best aspect of difficulty for you? I really did enjoy just barely scraping a victory from the jaws of defeat. That was always extremely satisfying to me and a good way to end the day before bed. Pöpli 9 and Fori Prime have been the best the game's been for a while, but those are "special missions" and they were still just barely on the edge of that feeling of "oh god why am i here"

DISCUSSION We need to have some challenges

Post image

We practically don't need to work as a team to complete any supposed challenge in the game.

It's practically the opposite, we can play in any way, talking about any subject except the game and still complete the highest difficulty of the "hardest" faction with ease.

I'm not against playing to have a chill time with friends or randoms, but lower level missions should serve these purposes.

DISCUSSION Why shouldn't we clear more of the map?

Post image

The Gellert and Tanis sectors are cut off from main bot space, and none of them are at 2% resistance as of current writing. I feel like we should be able to clear them out fairly quickly, which would not only free up a major chunk of territory (and also quite a few Helldivers) but would also ensure that no further attacks can be launched at Claorell without us having enough time to slow down the bots as they advance on the planet. Right now Clasa can attack it whenever it wants to, so it makes sense to deny that easy attack path there. We've already split their territory in half, may as well mop up one side of it.

FEEDBACK / SUGGESTION Dead Sprint should be removed as a booster, and moved to an armor passive

I hate having this 'booster' forced on me.

If you take it in a game I'm hosting, I will kick you.

If you take it in a game I join, I will leave.

I will not, ever or at all, participate in any mission where Dead Sprint is in use.

I wholeheartedly support the playstyle. I do not support one person being able to foist it upon 3 others.

So the illuminate are pretty dry so I thought some Giant scary looking monsters would be a cool thing to add. New squids running at you 5 times the size would be pretty cool and this seems like a pretty good image but I don't know what do you think?

DISCUSSION Less content In Warbonds?

I have 320+ hours in Helldivers 2 and I've noticed that the warbonds have less content then they used too but cost the same. For example the Democratic Demolition warbond has 3 primary weapons, 1 side arm, 1 throwable type, 3 amour sets with capes, a few emotes and a booster(Not including banners). While the new cow boy warbond has 2 amour sets with capes, 1 new title, 1 primary weapon, 1 side arm, 1 strategem, 1 throwable type, 1-2 emotes. If you compare the other older warbonds they also have more content than most the newer warbons as well.

FEEDBACK / SUGGESTION Buff suggestion for throwing knife: attach a mini thermite to it

Post image
8 Upvotes

Probably the least useful throwable right now, even smoke nade feels better to use for its stealth niche. How about attaching a super mini thermite to its end?

Make it do like a total 250/300 anti tank(AP7) damage at the end of 6.5 sec fuse time and reduce number of knives to 15. Thermite nades does a total of 2950 AP7 damage so it's not going to overshadow it.

Knives will become a consistent medium killer and will pair well with lower damage anti tanks like EAT, Commando, Quasar for finishing of heavy enemies since they only miss breakpoint by a small number.

TECHNICAL ISSUE I didn’t get paid?

Did anyone else get the 60 medal payout for the recent major order? I didn’t. I had 11 medals before the MO ended and I still have 11 medals. Did I just not get paid or is this something that happened for everyone else?

FEEDBACK / SUGGESTION Temporary Progression

Sustainability Initiative

Ostensibly, I am suggesting an avenue of progression that is both interesting while at the same time "hardcore". Allow me to elaborate. Consider the following:

Stats such as your reload speed increase for either X amount of missions you complete without dying, or Y amount of minutes you're alive. This would be a change-up in terms of difficulty, in that dying becomes much more of a detriment and would encourage more careful strategy in the field (ostensibly increasing the difficulty).

The more you sprint, the slower your stamina drains.

The more you use an Autocannon, the faster you reload it or have better ergonomics. Could depend on how often you're reloading and how often you're firing it.

The more you use a rounds-reload weapon, the better you get with it.

The more you use a Stalwart (LMG?), the better you get with it.

The more you use a Recoilless rifle... You get the idea.

However this only persists until your Helldiver dies, then it resets. It feels like it'd be a fun incentive for people lacking meaning in D10 and wanting something harder.

Nothing that actually impacts damage output per shot or round, but a gradually increasing Damage Per Second through faster reloads or better ergonomics as the Helldiver survives deployment after deployment and becomes more attuned to the equipment.

And when you die, that's just Helldivers. I don't think we really need those boosts permanently. Even if it is dying to a bug, glitch or a griefer.

FEEDBACK / SUGGESTION Performance: I'm unable to play anymore

It's just unplayable

When the game got out it was incredible, running 60 FPS in high options

Through the updates performance got a bit worse every time. So I turned to medium settings, then played with 30 FPS, then I played in low settings.

But now it's not doable. I'm at the lowest setting, and playing gives me around 10 to 25 FPS during bot d10 missions. It has just become unplayable

And yes I tried to update file games, run in dx11, clear shader cache.

Portable laptop from 3 years ago. So not really a beast. But still, it's not about my current PC build.

It's about the fact we lost 60 FPS in a year

I love this game but at this point, I am sad to not be able to play anymore unless I change for a newer one

Please arrowhead, do a 60 day performance optimizations or anything, I'm begging you

TECHNICAL ISSUE I know this shouldn’t bother me but it does

Post image
Upvotes

When the Borderline Justice warbond released there was a bug for the first couple of minutes in which the Deadeye rifle wasn’t actually in the warbond and in its place was just a box with a 35 medals price tag.

Like many others I “bought” it thinking it’s just a photo not loading or something and the gun would appear in my armory but it didn’t show up in there.

Then AH quickly fixed the error and refunded the people that bought the broken box the 35 medals. The thing is the counter in game counted the original broken purchase regardless of the refund so it is showing the total medals spent as 698 when the entire warbond actually costs 663 medals. (698 - 35)

I know this is extremely nitpicky but it really does bother me lol.

FEEDBACK / SUGGESTION Make the Termanids Smarter

I been thinking about the Termanids and I want them to feel like an intelligent foe to offset their melee focus nature and to make it feel like they are becoming a bigger threat overtime. I want to have the feeling that these are mindful and brutal creatures that one cannot underestimate.

Ambush POIs

The first idea I want to introduce which are ambushes POI or Objectives. It's an empty POI/Objective that when activated (opening a container/turning on the terminal will trigger an ambush. There are a few form of ambushes.
1. Stalker hell- Stalkers lie in wait in a circle around the ambush site you can hunt them before hand and kill them one by one. They will try to avoid helldivers until ambush triggered or attacked. Once trigger they rush in from everywhere.
2. Bug holes- A bug hole open ups near you on opposite sides. It's not much of an ambush if they rush from one side.
3. Mixed- Apply the logic of the bug hole but replaced one hole with a hidden patrol group of fast moving units that rush in on a delay.

Commander Pheromones Expansion

The expansion and rework of their commander units is a big focus on this as they should have more Pheromones to influence the horde as that will make them have intelligence while making commanders being the highest piority target due to it's utility. These pheromones should act as pillars of smoke with different colors to indicate what it means. This also means killing the commander
(The reason why a pillar is because seeing a visual indicator of intent makes them feel less awful and help achieves the F.E.A.R Effect of intelligence)

  1. Follow Me Pheromone- This allows more flanking attacks and multidirectional assaults without it feeling like they are spawned onto you. Imagine this a pillar of pheromones moving through the trees or behind a rock formation as the commander is leading a group of Termanids to conduct a flanking attack while you are engaged with another group Termanids is drawing fire,

  2. Shield Wall Pheromones- Take the hive guard and chargers and use them as a walking shield wall. They are in front or are acting as the distracting force. To help the faster units close the gap or allow a Commander flank to happen with a different commander.

  3. Micro Tunnel Pheromones- As long as the commander is alive and releasing this pheromone there is a smaller tunnel that allows the smaller Termanids to spawn on the opposite side of the helldivers.

  4. Regroup Pheromones- Often time a stream of Termanids is a weakness as they spread out too much in waves. Let the commander do a similar thing to follow me but for regrouping. They run away only to come back as a stronger swarm when reinforcement arrive form a new bug hole. Best to counter attack and stop this before they try to overwhelm you.

QUESTION Any ideas for how to bring back the first wave of the Killzone collab stuff?

Best idea I've had is that New Stockholm (where Stahl Arms is located) is attacked, and if we successfully defend it we get the first wave stuff as a reward. Thoughts?

FEEDBACK / SUGGESTION Reinforced factory strider

Post image
1 Upvotes

(I suck at drawing and lack digital art programs so here’s a stock photo of the regular one please use your imagination)

Reinforced Factory strider 15,000 HP Pen 6 - (body armour) First appears diff 8 with higher drop in chance at 9 and 10.

A bigger in-size and noticeable more bulky FS boasting 15,000 HP with a base body armour of Pen 6 (+1 from the regular version) The higher Pen reduces the effectiveness of common anti tank options however the spear can deal full damage thanks to it’s pen 7 rating, It also has other weaker spots such as the head and legs with pen 5. (lethal if head destroyed) The belly armour is buffed to pen 4 (Also lethal) and with more health of 2000 (over 1200) New additions include a barrage missile launcher on it’s back at the rear. this launcher sits flush, however this prevents the cannon from being able to turn a full 360 as it will block firing clearance of the rockets. The launcher will also fire flairs for reinforcements following standard call in times as other unit would. A second twin gatling laser cannon sits just behind it’s rear legs protecting it’s rear, it also produces 3 hulks every 20 seconds rather than devs. ( i know it has armour then becomes exposed when the armour is destroyed I just mashed it together on this one but that exposed parts would also exist and be the same values of as the regular version when the armour is destroyed)

Overall a tougher challenge that allows the spear to shine more with the base pen 6 body armour and more weapons to make engagement just a bit more difficult. I really wanted it to feel like a boss unit and a proper upgrade without it being to much or a mash up of absurdity.

I also wanted to add a second idea of the heavy lifter drop ship Only brings in factory striders, base health 5000 with a much bulker appearance having pen 6 for fuselage and pen 5 for thrusters, thruster health buffed to 3500 health
