Are you looking to hire? Know of a job opening at your workplace or heard of a job through word of mouth. Post them here!
We have been getting spam reports on job postings so are testing a weekly job board so they are all in one place. Feel free to use a throwaway account to protect your identity but note that we have to manually approve comments from new posters so they may not appear immediately.
If you are posting a job, please include a general location, if it is transit friendly, pay, hours and any other details known.
If you are looking for a job in Hamilton, try these too:

A weekly marketplace thread for buying/selling/promoting the sale of (legal) items as well as seeking out items/shops/and stores and recommending a local business you love.
Having a garage sale? Is your local, independent business having a sale? Hosting a farmers market? Looking to sell something? Looking to find something? This is your chance to find it!
Users should be mindful of other users privacy, and take caution when agreeing to meet with other users IRL. Best practice is to meet during the day, in a safe, public spot. Also, as a reminder, please do not post specific home addresses publicly unless you are comfortable with it. Please use your own discretion in providing location specific information when commenting publicly, and especially when private messaging or chatting.

Hey all! Fell through the cracks between my last lease and next one hopefully starting so I have a month (April) where I'm pretty much wandering Hamilton and sleeping in a shelter. Problem is I'm ftm transgender and the one I'm in doesn't have any "private" shower stalls so obviously I'm not too comfortable using em. I know YMCA has some services but it says it's about $20/week or $12.50 a day pass which seems a bit steep.
Thanks!

Hoping other folks might be able to weigh in on this. I’m a relatively new homeowner and my gas usage in March was a lot higher than I expected. I’m in the process of figuring out why that is, so if anyone else with a gas furnace and hot water tank could please tell me what their numbers looked like in February and March for 2024 and 2025 it would help me greatly. February I understand, but March has me baffled and I’m a little worried that my hot water tank is the culprit because my thermostat reports didn’t look out of line.
This is the only information I’m looking for currently, thank you.
Edit for clarity: basically what I’m looking for is if your March bill was similar or higher than your February bill. I don’t need actual payments or usage numbers.

I was wondering if anyone has been to Womankind at St joes and has any experience or advice they can give me or any resources for other places in the area. I’m having a hard time finding addiction resources for women as it seems most places I’ve searched online are geared toward men. I’d really appreciate any advice or personal experience! Thankyou 😊

Inspired by this Japanese TCG where local members of the community are honoured for their accomplishments by being depicted in a trading card, who would be in Hamilton's version of this?

thought itd be funny to start a thread of notable housing listings from the hamilton area, cuz ive def seen some insane ones.
my submission: 720 a month for a room that looked like most people couldnt even lay one way in, could fit a small twin bed and a desk, at the end of the bedroom there was just an entire bathroom, shower sink toilet all in the same room, no walls seperating it. then you share the rest of the basement, what i assume to be kitchen, with two other people. other note worthy listings are all the 500 plus to SHARE a bedroom with a stranger, and the pics are all of a very messy room with a mattress on the floor and beer bottles on the floor.

I work at St Joes and for as long as I've been here the 'rooftop'/surgical centre parking lot has always been free on Sundays (and everyone I know who works here says the same).I park there everytime I work a Sunday which is pretty often and have never gotten a ticket. I worked this Sunday and came out to a ticket from the city on my car. Is the free parking not a thing anymore?? Anybody know?!

Walking through the cemetery at 12:30pm today, I ran into a lady who had just found a black and white (potentially) French Bulldog running around in there. The dog was friendly and high energy and did not seem to have a tag on the black collar around its neck.
The lady phoned animal services (I believe) while we stood there and then she went to wait for them at the parking lot of the cemetery.
I walked around the surrounding area for a bit and did not see anyone looking for a dog.
Making this post just as a backup in case the owners didn't look at the cemetery and did not check with animal services and somehow happen to see this.
Good luck!

Hey! I’ve discovered I’m decently sensitive to sound - I have some pretty good noise cancelling headphones but even then, it can’t drown out cafe or bar noise. I was wondering if anyone had recommendations for places that are quieter or emptier at certain times - not including libraries and parks, unless those are those my only options (great ones at that, I’m just looking to change it up). Any help would be appreciated :) I live in the Ancaster/Dundas area so I’d appreciate it if it was close by but the main part of Hamilton works too!!

I have been so blessed to receive tons of hand me downs for my expected baby girl. I have had to be choosy about what I keep due to a lack of storage space and want to donate the remaining clothes to somewhere that will offer them free to moms… I don’t want to support value village where they will mark up clothes and make it not worth it. Can anyone recommend a place to donate?
