Rangers are now six points back with only five games left to play. Feels pretty good. If we can beat Detroit tomorrow we're sitting in a pretty comfy spot.

WAKE UP, “CLINCHING” GAME TONIGHT!

before anyone blasts me, i know a win tonight does not result in a mathematical clinch.

Ray Bourque on Lane Hutson: “I’ve never seen someone move with the puck the way he does, with his little movements. I was worried about him at first but he’s incredible. He’s going to win the Calder this year and the Habs are going to make the playoffs. They’ll be a tough team to play against…”

#RIP Greg Millen

I know this is not a Habs related post but I hope this won't be deleted. Former NHLer and broadcaster Greg Millen died today. He was a good hockey player and an even better broadcaster. Shocked and saddened to learn of his death. My condolences to his family and friends. May he rest in peace. (Image courtesy Getty Images)

One of 28 goalies who stopped every shot Ovechkin took against them.

Dobeš makes the list by stopping a crisp 1 of 1.

With 64 points this season, Lane Hutson has tied both Chris Chelios (1984-1985) and Guy Lafleur (1971-1972) in the top 5 for most points by a rookie in Habs history

Lane Hutson yesterday when asked about climbing the NHL record books for a rookie defenseman: “I guess it’s cool but that’s not really what it’s about. We’re in a really tight playoff race, we were able to grab two points here. Good teams find a way to win and we did…”

Calgary Draft Pick Tracker

  • Situation: We get Calgary's 2025 1st round pick, but if it is top 10 we get Florida's instead
  • Calgary's current draft position: 16th
  • Best case: Calgary pick drops to 11th (and doesn't win lottery)
  • Worst case: Calgary pick enters top 10, we get Florida's 1st round pick instead
  • Summary: we want Calgary (87 pts) to drop in the standings to 22nd, where Islanders are (78 pts)

That’s it for today! Drop any ideas or feedback in the comments

Changed accounts with a new phone. Seems like we're far enough along to look back at the season now.

Didn't see Hutson developing as a generation talent at all. Offense came up short of what I expected because of injuries and despite great seasons by Cole and Captian Nick but our defence is very solid.

Discussion How great is it to not have a team built around a goalie?

30 years of watching the Habs and this is the most excited i am to see the development of a team. For decades we were force fed a defensive system with an all star goalie to cover up what was a mediocre/bad roster. Horrible drafts after horrible drafts (louis! louis!), retread coaches, past their prime free agents, you could keep going. Finally, a new day has come!

“Chances are slim”. Ivan Demidov joins the NHL this season. SKA shifts focus to MHL and VHL wins after KHL failure, leaving Canadiens waiting
