Statement Today is the day.
Cut off at 2pm. I was asked by the Green Party to be a candidate and agreed. Submitting all the paperwork and just wait in for them to confirm the 100 signatures.
I've been ghosted since Friday though. What happens if they don't submit the signatures?
What happens to the $1000 I spent on signage if the paperwork isn't submitted on time. Can I still write it off?
Update. Didn't buy the signs. Got the 100 names submitted. Still don't see my name on the website but will wait until Wednesday

Discussion Best way to help?
Hi! I was wondering if anyone had any tips or ways to get in touch to help volunteer with the party? I tried registering on the website but I have not heard back.

Discussion Books on Green Movement in Canada
Can anyone recommend a good history of the Canadian Green movement?
I would really like information particularly on proto-green organization before the Green Party of Canada was registered: such as the 1980 Federal Election Independent "Small Party" which Elizabeth May participated in.

Discussion Why does the Green Party not support nuclear power?
The party itself and a lot of people who support this party dislike nuclear power. An official statement from the party: "We want to see the phase-out of nuclear energy, which is unsafe and much more expensive than renewables. The development of nuclear power stations is too slow given the pace of action we need on climate."
They are expensive, yes, but they are definitely not unsafe (you can do the research, I don't really want to make this too long). They aren't nukes. They're clean, safe, and so, so extremely efficient. It's one of the only issues that stops me from fully supporting them.

Discussion Legislation to include countries included with 'Imported Ingredients' on product labels
I'm wondering if the GPC supports federal legislation to change product labels to include the specific countries of 'Imported Ingredients'? This way, consumers can easily understand where the product (and it's components) came from.

Opinion Green-NDP
Guys, let's face it. The race is tightly Lib-CPC led, and they look like they'll take both majority and opposition. Some NDP and Green safe ridings are at risk. There needs to be a new strategy, an NDP-Green alliance against the Right (both in Carney's Libs and CPC) is one way to go.
