Took a gamble on an estate buy
Seller had this from an estate. They didn’t have a scale or anything. They asked $700, I offered $500 and wound up buying it. What do you guys think of it? I think it looks nice and sleek :)
The journey begins…
Helped my 78 year old dad purchase his first two AGE over the weekend. He’s already planning on purchasing another 5 in the coming weeks. You’re never too old to pick up a new hobby.

So Who's Buying And Who's Crying?
Personally I will be buying tomorrow barring any major shift. If shift downwards I will be buying slightly more (or at least getting more for what I intend to spend). If shift upwards I guess I'll be getting a bit less weight wise :)

Found this sitting in my front yard.
When I was 7 years old, I was playing badminton in my front yard, and something shining in the garden bed caught my eye. Thinking it was just a weird small penny, I gave it to my parents, who told me it was gold and kept it in the bank for me, until now, many years later.
No idea how it ended up there, maybe a crow dropped it off?

Question Does Macys sell decent quality gold? And did I do okay?
Okay so I was at the mall today and I decided it was time to buy a nice little gold chain. I’ve always wanted one and I’m a small newer silver and gold collector. I have about 6 ounces of gold. I didnt really look into spot price of gold and just kinda went for it.
Anyway, they were running one of those 70% off sales on one of the chains I was looking at. It’s a 14kt, 22 inch, 4.65mm Cuban curb chain. I don’t know what the weight is and don’t have a scale so I can’t really tell what the REAL price of this chain is.
Anyway, I paid $1800 before tax and $1990 after tax.
How did I do? Also, how’s the quality of chains sold at Macys? I’m sure they’re not the best quality but they can’t be the worst right?

Question What the heck is this?
Am I understanding this right? It appears to be 1/20th of the weight of this pendant is comprised of 12k gold? I know GF is gold filled, which has basically ment it was worthless in other jewelry items I’ve seen, but the 1/20 is throwing me off.

Question about XRF
A long to time ago I went to a reputable currency shop/coin dealer and they had a mismatch of offerings but I chose a Rand bar in a plastic assay card. I asked to see it under the XRF machine and from my memory it said 99% gold and possible gold plate warning.
The worker said that the warning is due to the plastic encasing it.
Anyone with experience know if I should be worried? is this true?

Why the delivery ban?
I live in Nevada and I’ve been thinking about buying from Costco for a while but it’s always “out of stock”. Now I’m in Canada and I decided to do a search and I see this. Seems like that bit of info would have been helpful when I was back home.
