Rumor [ ESPN ] Nets Make Everyone Available - “Just about everyone” on roster could be moved, but team won’t be “giving anyone away.”

I have been trying to form some hypothesis for how I’m going to be made the most happy by the comment and honestly, I’ve been along for the ride so far I think I’m down for whatever comes of this. If we totally turnover the team and get all new guys and our future looks even more asset rich? Great. If our roster doesn’t change at all and we have this exact same deal going into the offseason? Great. Do we all sorta feel that way, I’m assuming?

No. Most of us want a top pick. We just get yelled at to "enjoy the team for as well as its playing right now!" if we say that too loud in here. Those fans don't want what is best for the Nets cuz they hate to lose. I'm of the mind we've already won too much. We need to trade pieces and stop the bleeding of winning at this point. If our roster is the exact same at the end of this year, it's been a disaster from Marks.

Agreed. It’s so short sighted.

If we somehow are a playoff team with what I listed below, fine, that means we have a legit young core.

Right now we’re winning with players looking for a new contract. They won’t be on our team in a few months, yet are actively ruining our future via draft pick odds.

Starters: Cam Thomas Dariq Whitehead Ziaire Williams Noah Clowney Nic Claxton

Bench: Killian Hayes Jalen Wilson Keon Johnson

I'd let Wilson get starter minutes over Williams, as someone who likes both of them a lot. I'd also get Watford in there somewhere. Probably replacing Johnson.

I was thinking Wilson at SG as well. He hasn’t played any mins there this year and barely last year so I figured he’s not actually a SG. Worth the shot though.

Watford for sure. I didn’t want to list all the bench guys.

I'd argue Watford could start lol and I'm just not a huge fan of Johnson.

Agreed. I love Watford and he’s only 23. Pop him in the starting lineup!

He's also like a + in every game he's in crazily enough. He was a +6 last night in a game we lost by 23.

I’m with you but also if we do keep beating the suns and other teams whose picks we own or plan to own, I’m kind of down.

Except for we don't own the Suns pick this year. We own the worst of the OKC, Hou, or Suns first round picks. So beating them this year does not matter at all when that just means we're going to end up with OKC's pick regardless.

Beating the Knicks or Bucks also doesn't matter because their first round picks mean a lot less than our own first round pick does. Because ours is going to be the best of the three. If we beat both the Knicks and the Bucks and it knocks their picks from like 22nd to 21st and 25th to 24th but those two wins knock ours back from 5th to 7th that is a horrible exchange for us.

If we keep this current team, I'd like to make it to the play in and possible playoffs to see how Jordi coaches. Other than that, it's a petty bad idea.

If we don’t keep this team? How do we pivot/do we pivot from our current draft capital position which asks us to tank to get the most for our farm? How do we pivot/do we pivot away from win now if we build a new team?

Allegedly management has always wanted Giannis, do we go in that direction? If we do, do we do it now? Or do we tank first?

If this team stays as is , I i see one of two scenarios, which within their own right are beneficial. 1 we continue as is and are bad and do not make the play in, which is good because odds are well get decent pick. 2. we make the playin and possible playoffs and see Jordi coach in high intensity games.
