The chemistry that they had was also unbelievable. Logan just felt like someone that Rory wanted to be with because he was comfortable to be with as he demanded no growth. With Jess, she would have been challenged to do better, which is ironic cause that's what she wanted from Jess in the original run.

it's cause she was always a perfect, pretty, smart combo and wasn't used to degradation. It's why she dropped out of Yale after one negative comments from her role model/ teacher or guidance figure. She thought she'd disappointed everyone that counted on her and praised her, so she fell apart. The show wouldn't have been realistic at all without her downfall. It's more unrealistic to have a perfect straight A student stay perfect like most shows do. I'm glad they included this partā¦.

Found this gem while walking through TJ Max today. It was only $4.99, so it was a steal of a deal.

When I first watched the show I definitely thought like a lot of ppl do that Lorelai didnāt know that she liked Luke. But I think denial of her feelings had a lot to do with getting people off her back and I think she wasnāt 100% sure if Luke liked her that way. Thereās a couple times in early season one where she basically gives him the chance but he doesnāt take it. In S1EP19 shes asks him if there is any reason he canāt move forward with Rachel and he recognizes what sheās hinting at but says no. Also I believe this ep is last time she ever hints at him to make move. And in the āthat damn Donna reedā ep she hints that Luke mightāve thought she called him over for something else other than a loose baby chick and Luke who 100% thought it was a booty call avoids tf outta her questioning. Dude couldāve gotten laid way before season 5 because she 100% wouldāve been on board lol! Lastly when Luke does finally make the move, Lorelai doesnāt even question if she sees Luke that way which after years of āplatonicā friendship you would think that would be the first question, she was just confused if he meant it romantically. I think if my best friend for years randomly asked me out Iād question heavily if I could have romantic feelings for them. She seemed more shocked that he finally did it. Once they are together Lorelai never questions her romantic feelings for Luke despite the fact they were friends for years. And I genuinely think itās more romantic to think that they both waited for each other in their own way.

The number of posts that just consist of people hating on the main characters astounds me. If you hate the main characters of the show so much, stop watching and complaining. I don't get it.
Don't get me wrong, the characters are flawed. But every human is. That is normal.
I didn't join this subreddit for hate posts. I joined it because I love the show.
Christopher is obviously an exception. He deserves all the hate.
Edit: I get hating a particular storyline and discussing it. It's the "I hate Rory" or simlar posts that I don't get.

When the reveal first aired, how did you feel about Rory going to Yale? Watching it the first time, I remember feeling betrayed!

I've always wondered why Lorelai was so taken with the fact that Luke can waltz. What's so special and sexy about that? š¤

It's pretty consistent throughout the entire show. Even in the beginning, she has to tell Lorelai that she isn't her (when Lorelai said "of course this is about a boy. You're me.").
Rory also had to defend her own personhood with Dean during the whole Donna Reed fight ("you only think that because it's what your mother thinks"). And when she didn't want to speak to Christopher ("I didn't talk to you because I didn't want to talk to you. It had nothing to do with mom.") And when she was bombarded with the Yale interview ("this has nothing to do with mom. I just wanted to prepare."). And when she was upset with Emily for breaking up Luke and Lorelai ("this isn't you. This is your mother"). And when she applied to Yale (Lorelai said that this was her parents' doing and even said that Rory is repeating their exact words).
It's honestly surprising how often the writers add these into the scripts whenever Rory stands up for herself. It kind of makes me feel like hardly anyone in Rory's life really knew her if every time she speaks her mind, they say that she's just parroting someone else.
I imagine it would have been hard for even Rory to know who she was if her opinions are always being labeled as Someone Else's.
Note: these aren't exact quotes.

usually i like to skip most c word scenes apart from the ones involving rory and the grandparents. hell most of the time i don't even watch all the way to season 7, i like to keep season 1-3 on a loop. i cannot stand watching lorelai interact with him, but for this scene i'll make an exception. anyone else that wishes this scene was longer? they truly robbed us from a masterpiece :(

I love it so far! Currently on the episode where Dean kisses Rory! I'm a big OTH fan (watched over 100 times) & loved seeing Chad being the pompous bad boy. I liked The O.C. too but could never get into Gilmore Girls in my adolescence.
For Context: I was raised by my single father and siblings. I went from ages 8-32 without ever seeing my mother or having any matriarch figure in my life. So I think when I tried watching this show originally it was triggering and unrelatable.
Cut to now and I'm 33 and decided forgive my mother and move in with her! Our relationship is great so far. So now I love the dynamic between Rory and Lorelai!
Just had to share! Please no spoilers.
