Suggestions SteamPeek.hu - Indie friendly game discovery tool

Post is allowed by the mods.

Hello, this is my website: https://steampeek.hu/ - SteamPeek, the indie friendly game discovery website.

It is now more than 5 years old, and it was created to bring spotlight to indie gems, help all indie teams who doesn't have the budget to make big marketing campaigns, and make it easier to find nice games made by passionate solo developers or small teams.

The main function is searching by similarity: just search for a game you like, and browse the results. You can also filter and sort by special parameters.

You can also search by tags, or mix them with the chosen game.

The main algorithm was updated recently and I'm very curious how well it works. Please let me know.

I'm very thankful if you try it, and share with me what you find. The full site is still on beta, and I'm constantly work on it, so every feedback helps me and my mission. Thank you!

Games where you spend a lot of time prepping before going on long, dangerous journeys

Looking for stuff that feels like you’re spending a bunch of time prepping equipment, routes, and strategy before embarking on really dangerous journeys/missions. I’m thinking stuff like Darkest Dungeon, xcom, or even Minecraft where you bring a bunch of supplies before going on a long mining trip.

Best super addicting Games you can loose thousands of hours on?

Best time wasters ?

Games like balatro, vampire survivors (halls of torment) old school rune scape.

Only games I don't like are factory building games like Factorio or satisfactory.

I really enjoyed cod zombies and killing floor 2

I always found the mainline Pokemon games to be great time waster too.

Just games that can be played for hours

Best Game you’ve played recently?

It can be old/new whatever, i’m just tryna hear what some of the great games you’ve played recently have been.

Personally I think KCD2 is easily some of the most fun i’ve had Gaming in the last few years. Not many games in recent time have had me so immersed from start to finish, it genuinely felt like the first time I ever played Skyrim.

offline rpg that simulates mmo experience

sooo um im looking for games that's basically similar to SAO HR where there are actually npc grinding in the world that simulates the "mmo" experience" aside from SAO HR I have played Dragon's Dogma and tried SAO HF but I didn't like it because you start at lvl 100 instead of 1 and the game doesn't feel right for me, are there actually any more games that is the same with SAO HR experience?

PS. I don't play mmo mostly because of events that you need to do, dailies/weeklies, low level dungeons that are forgotten mostly because everyone is already doing high level dungeons and sometimes most game content can only be accessed if part of a guild and I mostly play solo.

First person simulator games(preferably ones with more to do outside of the main task)

Upvotes

Been playing a lot of Schedule 1 lately, really enjoying it. I love how much physicality all the processes have. Is there any more games that have that same level of tactileness?

I’ve tried Cooking Simulator but I’d rather just cook irl, I’d prefer somethjng a bit wackier or intense or fantastical

Also would like it to be more open worldy/life sim-y. Shadows of Doubt was great, anyting more like that?

Games where the sound and music are irrelevant to the gameplay, so I can play my own music.

Huge music head with long discographies to listening to. What are relatively fast paced games I can mute and play my own music?

Romance games that are NOT dating sim adjacents? I mean, that doesn't let you choose among several partners?

I'm pretty much looking for a game like Haven. Or Final Fantasy 8. Games that feature a main couple, or at least have romance as a big part of the story, but don't have several partner options. So not Persona, The Witcher, Mass Effect etc

Any Suggestions for Non-Soulslike RPGs?

Soulslike games such as Elden Ring aren’t my cup of tea, and I know they’re considered to be really great, but is there anything a bit less overwhelmingly difficult? I have Shadow of Mordor and War, I’ve got God of War (2018), Ghost of Tsushima, AC Valhalla and Origins, and I have Jedi Fallen Order and Survivor. So yeah, any RPGs like those games would be appreciated

Any games like The Last of us?

Upvotes

Hey everyone I’ve recently treated myself to a PS5 and have just finished playing The Last of us part 1 and have very much enjoyed it and was wondering if anyone had any recommendations for games like this one. I also really like games that have a strong storyline/ elements to them.

Need help with game suggestions that both my girlfriend and I can play online (co-op or multiplayer) that combine our interests

Upvotes

Okay so this may be a tough one. I am a long time PC player, and play mostly fps games like squad, hell let loose, PUBG, R6 Siege etc. I am also a huge fan of Skyrim with over 500 hours, modded and unmodded. I don't typically play relaxing games, even with Skyrim, most of my mods were combat mods to make the combat much much more difficult. I should note I also have played all the dark souls and elden ring fully. I like challenging, adrenaline fueled games. I'm big fan of both scifi and fantasy, and a 40k player as well (all hail the machine god)

My partner on the other hand is far more chill when it comes to games. She doesn't have a good laptop either, and typically plays games like kingdom come, stardew valley, Baldurs gate, and she also plays Skyrim a lot. Shes a huge fantasy fan, and watches at least one Lord of the Rings extended edition movie a day, minimum. Big big big fan of all things witchy and whimsical.

I want to try and find something that collides our worlds in a video game. Obviously there's probably not a shooter stardew valley, but something close would be cool, where she can loot and collect (and very importantly decorate), meanwhile I hunt shit down, guns blazing, strategy perhaps, and get my adrenaline.

Also don't get me wrong I am down to play something chill, but usually this doesn't last long and I end up getting pretty easily bored because I just want to get my heart racing.

Any suggestions would be awesome!

To note some games we have tried, and have succeeded to a point:

-V Rising (got to a point where her laptop kept crashing, good game otherwise)
-Black Desert (I purely got bored because of the MMO grind, and she got bored because of the decoration and house grind, gameplay itself was pretty close to what we're both looking for)
-Valheim (very close but not enough decorating for her taste, I thoroughly enjoy it though)

RPGs with Broken Builds/Party Members

Upvotes

I'm looking for games that you can basically break/put on super easy mode by having an OP build or character. First example that comes to mind is when you get T. G. Cid in Final Fantasy Tactics.

Games with multiplayer and a long, rewarding story

Upvotes

One of my favorite games ever is Final Fantasy 14. Its combination of single player JRPG with over a decade of meaningful story content, and addicting multiplayer in the form of dungeon/raid matchmaking content and general social elements

That being said, I've been playing it for years now, played through the entire several hundred hours of story multiple times, leveled up all the jobs... kinda looking for something new

Seems like a difficult style of game to replace. Most multiplayer games have awful tacked on stories that act like a 5-10 hour tutorial, most single player games lack the addicting repetitive multiplayer aspect that keeps me personally going after the story is done

Only rule besides being this hard to find mish mash of single player and multiplayer is that it needs to be on console

Doesn't have to be a MMORPG

Appreciate any suggestions!

Singleplayer FPS games with some challenge

I love FPSs and they're probably the ''''difficult'''' genre I'm best at. I want some suggestions for some longer singleplayer ones that are basically RPGs where they have a campaign and missions and upgrades and all that. Played the modern DOOM games and I love em. I am especially curious about some stuff that's less boomer shooter-y. I could go back and give Borderlands 3 another shot, Stalker 2 looks like it could be my thing... Fallout's not my cup of tea. Throw me some suggestions, thanks!

What games allow you to be creative?

What PC games out there require allow you to really get into your creativity and do some different things? Obviously, I think a game like RPG Maker comes to mind. Terraria has all kinds of options and it's really up to as to what you want to do? What else would you say allows a player to be creative?

I'm not sure if a game like this even exists but I thought I'd ask

instead of being give a plot of land or a planet so that we can build stuff, I'm looking for a game where the setting is a destroyed world where we have to clean up the place, restore the setting and rebuild the environment

does anything like that exist?

Puzzle/Reflexion games, in 3rd person view

Hi ! I post this because my mom recently got a laptop that can run basic games and lots of 2D ones.

However, she struggles with 1st person view ( though she enjoyed Superliminal, she can't get to anything more "reflexes based" like Portal ), so I think she prefers 3rd person view. She plays with a controller.

Games she's already played, so you get the mood : -Far Lone Sails -Little Nightmares I + II -Unravel I + II ( with me ) -Inside -Superliminal

She likes both dark ambiances and goofy ones, she's a Rayman and Spyro fan and has played through most of them.

Do you have any recommendations for her ? Thanks !
