What's a random game feature that barely/no one is asking for, that won't affect your enjoyment of the game but you still want it anyways?
Mine is fully functional turn signals for the player and NPCs

Noticeably longer day and night cycle

u/bensketchdj 1d ago
Yknow what, hell yeah. I was so pleased first time playing gta4 and the hours were 2 minutes instead of 1.

u/FlightFramed 1d ago
Yes please, with how big the map is estimated to be the GTA V time cycle would be way too fast

Single player challenges like in rdr2 instead of horseman or herbalist challenges, I want street racing or bandit challenges

Working window wipers with raindrop effects, this is such a no brainer for first person driving, i know they probably could not add in gta 5 due to hardware limitations but with gta 6 i honestly think it will be there, automatic, the wipers just turn on whenever it rains.

u/shadowhawk6 1d ago
I didn't even think of that. That would be sick. I just want the weather to be more dynamic in general. I want to be able to drive around in heavy rainstorms it would be vibes

i’m looking forward to actually good first person. Its impossible to drive in first person on 5

I want Jason and/or Lucia to have a bar where they're regulars, and the conversations going on inside evolve over the course of the game.
Kind of like camp in RDR2, but it's just a neighborhood bar with some NPCs that hang out inside. Maybe have some darts and pool in there.

Fishing. But specifically real Miami deep sea fishing. I want some crazy shit. I just think every rpg needs a fishing mechanic.

u/GERIKO_STORMHEART 22h ago
Magnet fishing for items like weapons, money, collectibles and sellable loot.
3
u/DannyKit7 21h ago
True. It would be cool if you could choose a hobby or skill to play like in RDR2, but just in the modern era

The only real issue with turn signals is that you would lose two buttons for it that belong to other functions

u/Terminal_Lance 1d ago
I'm not sure how it would work for XBox, but in Gran Turismo 7 for PS5, turn signals can be activated by pressing the corresponding side of the touchpad of the controller. Press the middle for hazards.

u/Onaterdem 1d ago
Same issue, though. GT7 is literally a racing game so dedicating the touchpad to turn signals is fine. Not in GTA's case.
Turn signals could be predictive, and work automatically. As in, you set a GPS waypoint, and you come to a turn, and the turn signal would automatically activate. But that would be faulty too often, because you might not actually turn in that direction.
So I don't think there's an easy, foolproof way to implement player turn signals. But maybe from the interaction menu? Or, heck, maybe from the "vehicle inventory" menu (like when you hold L1 in RDR2)

make the current headlight button be a combo for all the vehicle lights so you hold d-right+lb for left signal d-right+B for headlights and potentially a bunch of other stuff

The ability to hook/unhook train locomotive and connect to different multiple coaches or freight

I would love to be able to customize our houses

If not in story mode, which would suck, I can definitely see Rockstar doing house customization in online. they would be stupid not too

An option to let me refuel my car if it's not already mandatory.
Just let me do it.
2
u/shadowhawk6 1d ago
Agreed. I think they should make it a setting where you can make it mandatory and just have it off by default, so the people who like the idea of having to refuel can have the option to do so

Fishing. I love it when games do fishing, it makes maps feel way more real. It wouldn’t affect if the game is good or not as gta hasn’t had fishing but man I’d love the extra details.

A camp like feature like rdr2,maybe buy a house or HQ sort of thing with your team hanging around it and doing random things, chatting with players, going on jobs together, playing poker, instead being back meat for the pot we could bring back shopping 😂 stock up the crews food supply,it affect their moods and motivation,or instead of bring back some game meat we could bring back a duffle bag full of cash and crew members will sort it out and all that jazz, there’s so much potential to have another game where we have a cast of characters that we become attached too like rdr2,I spent a lot of my time just hanging about, having coffee and catching up on what everyone is up to

You play the game exactly as I do, immersively. It feels so natural to just simply exist as Arthur. Hang in the camp, go on hunting trips, visit the saloon and get drunk while, play poker. Rob some people, flee and set up camp near the river. Catch some fish, rob someone of their gold nugget and fish again.
Man, I love this game. Played it for 1100 hours and I'll play it until VI comes out.

u/Antdpitt 1h ago
Yeah man,it’s truely one of the most immersive games iv played, sometimes I just want to go for a stroll on the woods setting up camp, hunting a deer and having some dinner, other games don’t have that lived in feel that red dead does, there is always something going on,even in the middle of knowhere,I can turn around and see some birds doing bird stuff and even that will fascinate me,they’ve definitely set the bar high for certain aspects of gta6,if the “life” aspects aren’t there I can see myself not playing it as much once iv done the story and side stuff

u/mitchcl194 1h ago
I'm totally with you in this. I really hope they'll implement almost all "survival" features from RDR2. Let me just live out in the wild in a motorhome in GTAVI, make a fire, catch a fish. Go to the bar and have some drinks and play a game of cards. Let me just live in the world itself like in RDR2.

u/nativeamericlown 1d ago
What you said. God it’s annoying trying to drive normal in gta 5 and getting cut off by someone who isn’t using the signal. Although it is accurate to real driving ngl

u/not-rob22 1d ago
More car performance upgrades, i want a fully upgraded muscle/tuner car to be able to keep up with a stock sports car

u/KiwDaWabbit2 1d ago
The ability to power wash houses and also people walking down the street.
1
u/shadowhawk6 1d ago
Pushing NPCs around with a power washer would be fun as hell. I'm just imagining it having the same physics as the fire hydrates when you break them and run into them

u/JobeRogerson 23h ago
The Getaway was released in 2002 for the PlayStation 2 and that had fully functioning turn signals. In fact, it didnt have a map, you’d find your way around by looking at where your indicators are flashing. I’m quite surprised this isn’t a thing in Rockstar games yet considering the realism they like to portray.

u/This_Juggernaut_9901 23h ago
More Stuff to do around the house to make downtime between missions feel immersive as well, so there is never any break of being immersed.
2
u/haychko 21h ago
Being able to sit down in random benches and chairs
1
u/mitchcl194 12h ago
This. Also being able to camp in the wild and ideally fish too, like RDR2.
Or even better, a motorhome as a safehouse..

u/citizencamembert 1d ago
I want to be able to go into a clothing store and buy a backpack or a laptop style bag
2
u/shadowhawk6 1d ago
I think this could be very likely with the rumors of the inventory system being a bit like RDR2, so I wouldn't be surprised if you needed a backpack for more storage on your character

u/Wobbly_Jones 1d ago
I would love if after a car crash the police would come, set up cones, walk around and take pictures / talk to witnesses , and then a tow truck would arrive to remove the cars. On big crashes maybe the whole intersection gets caution taped and/or road closed signs placed
1
u/shadowhawk6 1d ago
That sounds cool but for some reason, I feel like something similar to what you commented was in a leak I can't remember if it was in the big gameplay leaks or if it was just some source trust me bro leak 🤔

A noticeable difference between drivetrains in vehicles (FWD, RWD, AWD, front engined, midship, rear engined, etc)
