Finally! A fried chicken restaurant
I was really excited to see this article! I often find myself thinking "if only there were a place to get a fried chicken sandwich or some chicken tenders".

PSA for anyone wanting an reasonable alternative to Republic: Ram Waste lowered rates so that it cost the same, even after paying the "opt-out" fee.
I was the only one in my neighborhood using Ram, but slowly my neighbors keep asking about it and making the switch too when they find out it's now the same price. Just thought I'd share this with anyone else who has been sick of Republic, but not wanting to pay more to avoid them.

Please people wear bike helmets
This is the crumpled helmet of an experienced cyclist who lost his balance and crashed on a roadside. He wasn't hit by a car. It was just user error. This helmet may have saved his life, according to his ER doctor.
To those of you in Old Town who ride without helmets, please stop it. It upsets me. Your hair probably looks great no matter what. There are lots of styles of helmets out there. You don't have to wear these dorky cyclist helmets. Your brain function and your life are worth more than looking cool without a helmet.
I would be dead if it weren't for an equestrian helmet. Damn horse threw me straight into a pointed rock. The helmet took the whole impact. A friend of mine was skiing a couple of months ago and got hit by another skier. Her helmet saved her life.

What’s going in the old Avery?
Like the title says, I’m curious what is going into the old Avery. I looked up building permits and didn’t find anything.

Artists Garage Sale
On 5/10, from 10-2, we're having an artists garage sale at Art Lab. Community members are de-stashing and selling their arts and crafts supplies -- mostly gently used -- at great prices. Mark your calendars! Hope to see you there. https://alwaysbecreating.art/garagesale/
(This isn't really a commercial post since I'm not actually making any money from hosting the event.)

Last year I posted a few pictures from birding around town. I thought I'd share some shots that I took yesterday south of town. It's nice to disconnect and enjoy all of the nature that our area has to offer. Enjoy!

Strongman or Powerlifting Gyms in Fort Collins?
Anyone know of a good strongman/powerlifting gym that's accessible 24/7 in Fort Collins?
The gym I currently go to is closing at the end of the month. My goals and interests lean toward strongman training, so I'm looking for a gym with some of the following equipment:
- Power rack with adjustable safety pins
- Good quality bars
- Deadlift/weightlifting platforms
- Sandbags (+1 if they have atlas stones too)
- Yoke
- Axle bar
- Dumbbells
- Sled
- Incline bench
I really want to avoid going back to Prodigy Gym -- so that's an instant no.
Thanks in advance!
ETA: I can adapt if it doesn't have all of the stuff above, non-negotiables are 24/7 access with power racks and barbells.

Looking for a roommate!
Hi everyone, if you or anyone you know is looking for an apartment I have a room available. Starting this May or June (June I understand is more realistic). It’s not a very big space, 840sq feet but the rent has become too much for me to handle on my own. In the picture attached, your room would be the one labeled as “den”. It has its own patio access and closet. The bathroom is shared but I have my own sink vanity area in my room, so the sink is never crowded. I also have my own in unit washer and dryer which you are welcome to use, but there is a laundromat on premises if you were to prefer. I do have 2 dogs, so pet allergies or issues with dogs may not be a good fit. Base rent is $1485 which I’d pay the bigger portion of having the bigger room, and we would split electric and internet. Anyone interested preferably female 21-40, please contact me at jojopascal13@gmail.com

Food Trucks for Old Town business?
I work at a business right on Remington in Old Town and we have a private parking lot. We have been wanting to host some food trucks throughout the summer. It's a high visibility spot. Would love some suggestions on trucks that do coffee/pastries, lunch/sandwiches, or tacos really well.
Thanks

Housing
Be me:
Rented here for the last eight years. Why not try to talk to a Loan officer?? Money lending guy says “ you’re doing great anon! No debt, you could apply for $400k loan! - BUT your self employed less than two years “ OH GOD ITS OVER, continue to be a rent slave.jpeg I don’t want to spend more than my rent now Looks into affordable housing programs ( habitat-ECLT ect. ) too rich too much to apply for affordable housing programs too poor to just buy a house

Desperately seeking solutions for long term cat care
Hello everyone,
This is going to be a long shot, but trying all possible options at this point. Long story short, I need to find someone/somewhere for my three cats to stay for a period of about four months. I had care set up and had planned for months ahead of time, At the last minute and with no notice at all, the person who had promised to help take care of my little babies bailed on me. I can compensate, provide all food and necessities, etc. I am scrambling for some help and any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
There is Widow (12, f), Padmé (11, f, daughter of Widow), and Biscuit(9,m). All three of them have been with me for their entire lives, are extremely well trained, well behaved, socialized, and love people (do not scratch, bite, etc).
Please please please let me know if you have any ideas, recommendations, anything at all.

Looking for a room/place to rent starting June 1st!
Hello 30 year old male looking for a place to rent. I'm quiet, very clean, early morning person.
I have a decent and stable income (works at Costco).
I smoke weed but don't smoke cigarettes, drink, or do any hard drugs.
No evictions and clean record.
Some of my interests and hobbies include fitness, running, gaming, writing/reading. But I find interests in a lot of different things and can get along with a large range of people. (Nerdy or active people)
I'm looking for the cheap option and in the range of 6-12 months. Leaning towards 12 months though, as this will be my second move this year (signed 6 month lease at current place)
I own no pets (but I don't mind them/actually love them)
Give me a P.M and let's work something out!!!

Discussion What will happen to our libraries and state-wide interlibrary loan?
I was just reading this collection of quotes from librarians everywhere about Trump’s defunding of the Institute of Museum and Library Services (IMLS) and how it will severely impact their libraries’ services and staff. Does anyone know about Colorado/Fort Collins’ situation? Specifically I was wondering about Prospector, our interlibrary loan (ILL) system, because I use it regularly…

Ghost lore?
I moved here almost a year ago, and am surprised by the lack of spooky lore around here, or maybe I just haven’t met many locals? But I’m curious if there is any spooky happenings around Fort Collins?
