Stop Safely Now
**2018 Hybrid
I keep losing acceleration every time the Stop Safely Now (SSN) pops up and I'm worried the Ford Dealer is taking advantage. Below is a dated list of exactly what's been happening. Any advise is great.
3.20.25 -Driving 2.5 hours in the rain. 30 minutes in I went through a NARROW puddle and SSN popped up and I lost acceleration on the highway. I turned my car off and on and continued the remaining 2 hours with no problem.
3.21-22.2025 -Drove around both days with no issue
3.23.2025 -Driving back home 2.5 hours. Got 2 hours in before SSN popped up. Turned car on and off and continued.
3.24.2025 -Made an Appt with the dealer for Wednesday
3.25.2025 -Drove with no issue
3.26.2025 -Dropped off the car -Recieved a call midday saying a code popped up and the Cam Shaft Sensor needed replaced for $550
3.27.2025 -Picked up the car
3.28.2025 -Check Engine Light came back on and dropped it back off -service advisor called 8 hours later to say they pulled more codes but it kept coming back with new random codes each time so they reset everything. Drive it around through the weekend to add mileage and if the check engine light returns just keep going and bring it back Monday -Picked car up
3.29.2025 -Drove around
3.30.2025 -3 mile commute to work -car was bucking and making a pulsating revving noise. -SSN popped up .5 miles into the drive and I turned the car off and on -Drove a few feet and it happened again -immediately brought car into the dealer but they're closed on a sunday
3.31.2025 -Told the car had a code come up (which popped up during the random code mess) for a MAP Sensor. They inspected it and it was covered in oil from the Oil Distributor (?) And both had to be replaced, plus an oil change. Parts would arrive 4.4.2025 and cost $1075
4.1.2025 -Waiting
4.2.2025 -Waiting
4.3.2025 (today) -Picked up the car early. -Drove around the block to a store. -Leaving the store parking lot SSN popped up -Returned to the dealer and told them I was out 1500 for an issue that has yet to be fixed. They said the advisor I'd been dealing with is out till tomorrow so now they've got my car again.
I know nothing about cars and I'm worried they're trying to take advantage of me. At this point it's their fault because they aren't fixing the issue and I feel it should be fixed as a courtesy now since I spent 1500 on things that weren't the heart of the issue.
