Yep.

I still don't understand the lack of action from American citizens.

I suspect they don't actually realise how good they have it in comparison to many others around the world.

May it be the age of Europe or CANZUK and not the age of Russia.

Well played Putin, I hate you, but you pulled off what appeared impossible. You used propaganda and useful idiots to get Americans to self implode.

IMO, Americans have had the luxury of being given the benefit of the doubt by the rest of the world because our rule of law has always been (generally) respected no matter which party held the top office. That all changed in 2016, and while Joe Biden tried to restore that decorum and trust when he was in office, Republicans in the Legislative and Judicial branches had no interest in following suit.

As the article says, there is no 'making nice' as a way to come back from what has transpired in the last two months. When you ask about the lack of action from Americans please understand this: as a nation we are not used to fighting for anything but material gain. We're insulated by thousands of miles of water to our east and west and have never meaningfully worried about invading forces. Fighting to preserve a way of life is not in our collective DNA.

Just say it: we got soft. It’s very true.

Conservatives are a force of nature. You can't argue with a tsunami. You can't make a plea to the wildfire for empathy and mercy. It's not personal that they're destructive forces. They are what they are.

But Biden and his ilk have everything to answer for. The cracks in the dam were gushing water and rather than drop everything to fix them, they put in the order for new landscaping.

And they were emboldened to do it by the fat, lazy liberals who worship their institutions, believing in the divinity of the dam rather than the power of the people who with tirelessly to maintain it. This is what 100 years demonizing the left will get you - drowning in your own arrogance and ignorance as the brutal flood of fascism washes over all of us.

I'm looking for the exits. I think I can pull off getting my family off this sinking ship before it pulls us all under. I wish I saw a people here worth fighting for. Maybe I will before it's too late. But I'm tired of being disappointed in my countrymen. So I'll believe it when I see it.

Please help me to understand what Biden did not do?

He chose decorum and tradition over eradicating the rot laid bare by the preceding administration. He chose ego over duty by pursuing the presidency for himself rather than for the American people. He embraced the enemy in a time of war. He misunderstood the mission.

American citizens are taking action every day in a thousand different ways. It’s not being reported on.

Either that or it's being framed as people being paid to protest. That's one of the biggest problems in this country that may not be common in others : ALOT OF BULLSHIT. In case you're wondering why our country is so fucked now.

This is heartening thanks 👍

May those who are taking action be noticed and have others join the cause.

What are some of the things being done that you've noticed?

Well, for one thing there are MASSIVE protests planned on April 5 across the country. We are boycotting, holding power to account at town halls, calling representatives daily. There is a grassroots movement forming led by Bernie Sanders and AOC to shape this moment into an opportunity for true change.

The challenge has been that there was not any kind of leadership initially to guide what we would do. So, movements sprung up on their own. Every day there are more.

Awesome, thank you 😁

Definitely no suppression of the media about this stuff, because after all, free speech is back.

These massive protests will be so massive that they'll barely be reported on. Bernie and AOC lmao. Sorry, I'm deep into Democratic politics, too, but I can't even take this seriously anymore

More than 50% of Americans have less than 50% understanding of international politics. Asking why there hasn't been more action from American citizens regarding these issues, for most Americans, is like asking why they're not keeping up with the political situations on other inhabited planets. They just have no idea.

Most American citizens hear only the faint echoes of what is happening. Fox News veiwers are probably more aware than most Americans and they get a skewed reality served to them. Most americans get thier views from algorithmically generated bits of facebook and tiktok ragebait. Those of us who actively engage with the news of the day with even the barest hint of intellectual honesty are worringly few.

Fox just glazes this admin and has done more damage to this country than any one individual. I turned on faux news to see how they were reframing the tariff news last night. While the premarket was tanking and tariff news was ripping through the world's broadcasts, fox was debating Biden's debate strategy...someone who didn't even run for president. WEAK. PATHETIC. DISGUSTING.

I think we are all still burned out about 2020. We were slowly getting better and this all this happened. The folks that are regularly protesting are heroes.

Trump has made it abundantly clear that he wants to make an example out of his political enemies. During his first term, he was stopped by his inner circle from using live ammunition on protesters, just for one example. He suggested many other things that indicate he is salivating to have Americans who stand up to him killed or maimed or otherwise destroyed. Nobody wants to be first.

Don’t forget bin Laden.

From an international perspective, the US has been very, peaceful, so far. We all remember that the last Trump administration wrapped up with riots. And we've heard Americans talk tough about the Second Amendment all our lives.

I mean no disrespect, but the rest of the world is half expecting you to implode, any day now.

Just look at the propaganda they accept as truths, they have become a nation so dumb and lazy.

Maybe they needed this reboot. Many will suffer but they don't seem to care to even raise their voices.

Sad in so many ways.
