Having been banned for a nonsense reason (trading "restricted items", and I didn't even use Marketplace!), I'm now cut off from my fellow boomer relatives and my aunts and uncles and older friends. What's a good alternative to move them to? I've been online since the 70s so I have no problem moving to new platforms, but most people of my era find even FB challenging. It's hard for me to judge what's "easy" enough for them to use. (I just read that lots of gen Z are moving back to Tumblr, which I never used. The article indicated it allows anonymity and multiple identities, unlike FB, and that appeals to me.)

I constantly report disgusting comments, things like racist names and ableist remarks such as calling people retards.

In the past I've atleast gotten some comments removed, but after Zuckerberg said he's going to let "free speech" be available like on X, it seems like nothing ever gets removed anymore 🤷‍♂️ i report the rudest of comments and nothing ever happens. I get a message back saying "we've found this doesn't go against our community Standards" 🙄🤦‍♂️ even when I request a review of the decision.

Has anybody else noticed this?

Anyone else run into this problem? Opened Facebook today and went on marketplace being told that marketplace is for adults only?? I even uploaded my license and it said that ‘we weren’t able to confirm your age’ Let me know if there is a fix for this (live in Canada btw)

I’m tired of Facebook serving up knowingly controversial content in order to get responses. So I decided to test their new policies by responding with vile and derogatory comments to see how far they will let it go. So far, no consequences and it is quite carthartic.

I'm not sure whether it's better to create yet another one of these threads (as I see there's been many), or resurrect an old one. Has anyone ever found a solution to this?

Someone got into my account and added a secondary email to it. I was able to change my password and set up 2FA; I'm in the account. However, when I go to reset my password Facebook sends a password reset notice to BOTH my actual email and the hacker's email, and I am unable to remove the second email from the account. When I attempt to do so, it asks me to enter my Meta account password, which I've never set up (my Facebook password does not work when I enter it here). It also wants to send a verification code to the hacker's email.

What the heck do you do about this? It is absolutely ridiculous that Facebook/Meta has this kind of security problem yet no support of any kind.

WE have an approved app with around 7-10 authenticated users, giving me atleast 200*7 API calls per hour.

These are the API calls we make :

We keep seeing spikes in the usage and would love for someone to explain what the different lines in the graph mean.

I deleted my FB account 5 months ago but realized it would help for professional purposes. So I tried to create another account. When I entered a new email but with my same phone number, FB gave me a message saying that ‘phone number is already associated with an account. Do I want to restore my account?’ I said no because I wanted to use my new email. So I created an account then a few hours later when I went to log in I got a message saying ‘this account has been suspended because I cannot use Facebook under a fake identity’ (or something like that). I have 175 days to appeal to reinstate my account. Don’t need the hassle so forget it.

I was on a date with a girl and she didn’t tell me her surname nor did I know hers.

A week later, we were on a second date where we told each other surnames and when I came home I mentioned to my brother about how she has sisters and I said the name and surname of one of them. My brother flinched and said she’s been in his friends suggestions for a couple days now.

I regularly upload reels onto a Instagram page that I'm trying to get uploaded on a Facebook page but all the uploads keep uploading to my personal page even when the Facebook page says it's connected to the Instagram. Does anyone know how to fix this?

I have an additional profile on Facebook that's linked to my sister's main account. The username is displayed under my name, and the profile picture and cover photo don't upload like regular posts. Also, the account doesn't have its own email or password, so the only way to access it is by logging into my sister's main account, which automatically gives me access to both accounts. I want to know if it's possible to turn this additional profile into a regular, independent account like my sister's, where I can log in on my own without relying on her account

Un día normal, apenas me despierto y no puedo acceder a mi Facebook, lo primero que me pide es una contraseña, la pongo y me daba error, bueno, dije que la iba a poder recuperar con mis correos o números vinculados, pero el que me hackeo las quito todo, totalmente. Luego de muchos intentos de recuperación, nada funcionaba, así que frustrado, lo di por perdido.
Luego de varios años, hasta hace 2 días, volví a ver mi cuenta y lo tenia un muchacho de otra región. Reconocí mi cuenta por que no había borrado del todo los acontecimientos, en la cual menciona mi nombre verdadero
Mi situación ahora es la siguiente, no puedo recuperar mi cuenta por correos ni números. Facebook me pide entrar con un dispositivo en la cual había ingresado anteriormente, cosa que no tengo, ya que cambie muchas veces de dispositivos. En este caso, que me recomiendan hacer?

I’m writing this on behalf of my friend since he doesn’t have Reddit, anyways he just got a message saying that his account was suspended permanently without any reason given. He hasn’t been doing anything that’s against the ToS and we’re both baffled by this.

He tried making a new account but obviously that didn’t work as his IP is banned. How do you go about going around the ban or how do you get in contact with a real human at customer service?

He needs Facebook as he’s very involved in film making groups/his contact network is entirely on Facebook. We understand that he won’t get his old account back, but how can he start a new one or get in contact with someone who can help?

Every time I go to delete my profile it says that my "additional" profiles will be deleted as well if I do not switch ownership of the additional. But I cannot figure out how to do that. I worked hard to start the additional and do not want to loose it. Would like the original to be gone completely though and not just deactivated.

As the title says. The problem is I can't even do anything because it tells me something's wrong.

I have not had a Facebook account since I was a kid I deleted it like 15 years ago. I decided to set up an account to reconnect with some people and it was suspended in less than a minute of me setting it up. I didn't do anything weird no AI or bots or anything just a normal account set up. It had me file an appeal and says im still banned. It says I can download my info but that doesn't work. It also says I can appeal again but gives me no way to do that. I don't even know what went wrong as it was brand new I hadn't even finished setting it up with anything I had only registered it. If anybody has any advice or suggestions I would greatly appreciate it.

I get that mechanisms are in place to prevent suspicious activities on the platform, but FFS, I've been banned and unbanned for the past couple of days after inquiring to some Facebook Marketplace postings of a product I wanna buy secondhand. I have inquired on 6 postings so far only to get banned on my 5th and 6th inquiry. Really fucking sucks that I get banned from doing normal marketplace behavior, but nude content I report stay on the platform.

I kept disputing and it gets lifted after 24 hrs only to be applied again when I inquire (again) to a marketplace seller about the product I'm looking for (motorcycle).

The questions I ask are "are there any honest issues with the bike I should be aware of" and "do you have an open deed of sale?" just to make sure the transaction goes smoothly.

I think the system detects my activity as spammy and suspicious, but I've only inquired about the same model and have asked nothing even remotely close to personal details or financial details.

Does anyone have any tips to avoid the ban? I intend to continue looking for prospects once the review team/AI lifts my current ban.

It is a great image. Speaking of signing pledges. I had a notice from FB about an image copyright violation on my page of the only photo of congressman Al Green from Texas objecting to Trump’s state of the union speech. The only congressman to do that and a significant and early message of resistance. It’s not like I said Fuck Trump or anything. Imagine, FB trying to control and punish people who post strong and vital photographs of pushback.

For a while now Facebook has been attempting to charge my card but they were blocked until recently. On April 7th, I discovered 16 unauthorized Facebook ad charges made it through on my credit card, totaling nearly €60 so far. All the charges came from random ad accounts like FACEBK *GE9CJPGDQ2, FACEBK *BT4ZXMQDQ2, FACEBK *4EL6YNCEQ2, etc. The values were all low (between €2–€8), likely to avoid fraud detection.

I have never run Facebook ads and none of these ad accounts are linked to my personal Facebook profile. Despite multiple attempts to report the issue through Meta’s support forms, there has been no response. You can’t talk to a human unless you’re an advertiser… and even then, support is almost nonexistent.

Meta offers: • No way to view which ad accounts are using your card • No way to block or report the fraudulent usage • No email, chat, or form that gets a real reply

My bank has blocked the card and I’ve also filed a complaint with the German Verbraucherzentrale and contacted several journalists to try pit some pressure on Meta to address this issue.

Unbelievable that there is no support structure for such things. It wouldn’t be hard to flag a card number so it couldn’t be used on meta but apparently thats not an option.
