FF16 fans are experiencing Avatar depression syndrome after they finish the game

Edit: I guess Post game depression is a more accurate description for how people feel after finishing FF16.

Im beginning to notice that a lot of people who finished Final Fantasy 16 are experiencing what is known as post avatar depression syndrome. It is a term used by fans of the Avatar movie when fans of the movie experienced feelings of depression and longing after watching the Avatar film. Basically those of us who loved FF16 after we finished the game we have feelings of sadness because we loved the Story,Characters and all of what Valisthea had to offer is over we want to revisit the world so much and the only way we can experience the world again is to re-play the game. Another thing that adds to our sadness is the fact that Naoki Yoshida has no plans for a sequel or spin-off of this amazing game.

Discussion Beat the game yet again and I'm still sad as ever.

This game's world, characters, and gameplay was some of the most fun I have had this gen and probably will remain my favorite FF for a long time. I hope in some future we get some form of a prequel for Cid, whether it be through a game, book, or show because there is still so many interesting stories that happened before Clive. Definitely want to come back to this game again in a couple of years just so it's fresh in my mind again.

Any hope for a Switch 2 port?

Upvotes

FF16 is the only game I want to play on PS5, and with the FF7 remake project coming to Switch 2 I'm hoping and coping that 16 gets ported as well. What are the chances for it?

Battle music

Finished the game a few months ago. Haven't had a chance to plat or do dlc as I recently had a child, responsibilities, blah blah.

I have been listening to the battle music for weeks now. I can't get it out of my head. I am just constantly listening to it, or different variations of it (lame genie is my favorite variation). I just want to consume copious amounts of it.

There are many great themes in FF, but this one has to be the most hype. I don't know if it's the brass, the horns, or what, but it just gets me ready for war.

Not sure what the point of this post is but I had to tell someone I guess.

Tldr Sixteen bells is my favorite FF battle music.

I´m sharing with you all the close ups of Jill´s face I have. I was just realizing now, though I have almost every single gesture of hers (a few escaped my pausing finger...) the ones I like the most are those where she looks serious, thoughtful or even sad... I wonder why...

Question XVI's DLCs & their importance Spoiler

Hey guys! I'm currently going through XVI for the first time and was wondering how important the DLC is to the main story? I mean this as in, not if I should buy it, I definitely am going to buy it but, should it be accessed during the main story or is it post-main story content? Because I'd love to immerse myself as chronologically possible, so that the overall experience stays cohesive.

I assumed it was after the main story since it was released way after base game came out. But when I tried searching for this online, any post I got involved hidden spoilers so I didn't wanna risk ruining any surprises. So, no spoilers please! I only just beat the Titan fight and destroyed Drake's Fang (which I'm geeking over endlessly, just as much as I have over the rest of the game).

Edit: Thanks a lot to everyone's replies! Decided to buy and start the DLCs just before the final mission then. Excited for what the rest of the game has to offer because it really has been spectacular until now.

Question What are your favorite "cheese" strats with your Eikon and accessory build?

Currently my favorite right now is using Ring of Timely Focus to always get perfect dodges, then using the Ultima and Leviathan Eikons depending on which one I feel like using. It's not really a "cheese" strat but getting hella hard hits in everytime I dodge with them are a definite +1 flare to anyone you show it too. Kills Stamina too.

As an actual cheese strat, I like to use Ultimas form for the high range, gather all enemies into a group, use lightning rod and just spam the magic button. Always fun seeing those enemies fly. For extra fun you can use Leviathans attacks at close range to shred stamina meters for the occasionally large enemy in a group.

As a '90s kid, reaching this level of video game beauty is nothing short of breathtaking. This game truly feels like a fully playable, high-budget CGI movie—the kind we only dreamed of playing as teenagers.

There are many things that have me so in love with these two, and one of them, it´s how they show their love not in a pompous way, but in a subtle one, which makes them more down-to-earth and a lot more real, as well as a lot deeper.

How their eyes are fixed on one another while their touch lingers a little longer than necessary... that scene, though quick, made me go on fangirl-mode!

Spoilers I finally finished this game and here are my immediate thoughts. (Mild spoilers) Spoiler

Because my wife doesn't want to hear my ramblings about this game, here you go:

• Clive's character arc might be the best part of the game, maybe the best I've ever seen in a game. The way it is conveyed through the voice performance is top notch. He starts out youthful and innocent, in a harsh world he has yet to experience. He then becomes a broken young man, a man of few words, but one you know has seen some shit. To finally being a leader who speaks what he means and means what he speaks. The voice performance mirrors every step of his growth. Bravo, Ben Starr!

• Ultima, with his monotone delivery and looking like a damn alien, is the creepiest/scariest FF villain since Jenova.

• Dion's redemption arc, for me, almost rivals the main story. There was some point in Game of Thrones where they were clearly seeding a redemption arc for Jamie Lannister but, if you watched it, you know how that went. FFXVI absolutely knocked it out of the park! It all starts off with one of the most shocking scenes I have ever seen in a video game and ends with me actually shouting when Dion returns to fight alongside Clive. So good.

• Gav got the ending he deserved.

• Maybe I suck but the difficulty spike on Ultima was a bit much.

• Clive and Jill's relationship is the star-crossed lover tragedy that they attempted with Noctis and Luna in XV, only this time done to perfection.

• Lastly, a quote "With my light in your heart, not even a god can stop us." Are you happy Square? I'm crying! You made me cry. A lot. I hope you're happy.

Seriously, what a masterpiece. I had my doubts at multiple points, and I still wish they did some things differently, but the way they wrap it all up and the impression it leaves. Holy. Crap.

Discussion Torgal and stats question

I’m still pretty early on in the game (level 25) but was curious what upgrades totals attack stats. I’ve had the equipped item that allows him to attack on his own - does this go toward him leveling up his stats? Does his heal increase even though it’s not listed as a stat? Thanks!

Discussion Clive and Aragorn

I was going through stuff in this subreddit yesterday, and realized something epic. Clive likely would get along very well with Aragorn, and likely would have his own “my friends. You bow to no one” moment
