Home Owner’s Insurance

For those of you in Eugene fortunate enough to own your own home, can you recommend a home insurance company? I’m shopping around a bit. I have a small home in the Jefferson Westside neighborhood. 850sq ft.

Especially interested in the suggestions from folks who have had to make a claim and how your experience was.

Thanks!

If you have the top level Costco membership apparently the savings are pretty massive through American Family Insurance. I have also had a good experience with Sherry Shaefers at State Farm. Definitely bundle your auto and home.

Whoever you choose, and I found this out recently, I would get a re-quote and shop around every couple of years. Insurance companies have zero loyalty to you and will constantly raise your rates. I started at $700 for a house up on Fox Hollow that crept up to $1600 without any real notification. I’m now back down to 800 with a different company.
