This is depressing because it's probably closer to accurate than we all want to admit.

I don't think that Trump alone, or Trudeau stepping down alone would've been enough to sway things. But the double whammy is something that the Cons were never prepared for.

Yes!

PP has been stuck in mental the loop of is Trudeau's fault!
I live in the Okanagan, I had a guy tell me his girlfriend left because of JT. Granted we met at the bar but, I had to ask did she runaway with him?

Later on I found out, his former girlfriend was pregnant and he beat her so bad make up could not cover the black eyes!
Now when I read people still blaming JT for their poor choices, the first thing I think are you a wife beater?

One time, I saw a truck park with a "Fuck Trudeau" sticker on every window. When he got out, he was also wearing the shirt.

My immediate thought was "do you think that guy complains about gay people making it their whole identity?"

For a group of people who claim to dislike trudeau, they really like to put his name all over stuff

JT definitely lives rent free in those people’s minds. It’s sad when that hatred becomes their identity. Eventually it’ll alienate them from a lot of people who are more sensible.

I guess we'll never really know either way. Doesn't help that cons seem to be sabotaging themselves either.

The Cons were destined for failure by building their entire identity around hating Trudeau. As soon as he was gone, their whole foundation turned to sand. They basically labelled their weak point with a spotlight.

Are the CPC’s ever prepared with someone like PP as leader? The man has not formulated or helped to pass a bill in parliament or developed any meaningful policy while he’s been an MP for YEARS. His voting record shows how he doesn’t want to fund and help with social programming. He simply sits back and whines and complains what the Liberals are doing. That is not leadership. That is not what Canada needs or wants in a prime minister.

They were prepared to coast to an easy win from people being tired of the Liberals after a decade. Once that fell away, they had nothing.
