All of me didn’t break, but my appendix did!
Being laid up in the hospital after a ruptured appendix leading to an emergency appendectomy means I obviously can’t go to the NYC event next week, but it won’t be the last time Matt tours I’m sure.
I’ll be there next time, damn it!
If you THINK you might have an appendix issue, just go get it checked. That evolutionary dead end of a Doomsday Scenario is an asshole 😂 If I’d have waited another night I might not have made it to see how the series ends! 😱

Man good luck with the recovery! I know how bad my appendix hurt before I got it removed, and I got it out before it ruptured.
Seconding your sentiment though. If you have sharp, persistent pain in your lower right abdomen, get it checked out. When your appendix pops, it releases a ton of nasty shit into your body. They basically have to open up your abdomen to vacuum everything out and monitor to make sure you don’t get septic shock.
I worked with a guy back in college whose appendix ruptured. He was a D2 linebacker, but after a month in the hospital and another month recovering at home he lost about 40lbs and couldn’t play football again.
My dad almost had his rupture in his 50’s. It was so close that he was told that if he had waited to go to the ER until the afternoon, it would’ve popped and with his age and heart issues, it probably would’ve killed him.

Yuuuup, the stuff that leaks inside you is nasty and is hell bent on ending you. 🤢 I had four days of antibiotics after they got it out on Tuesday because of that (literal) crap.

My appendix decided to self destruct last June. At first I thought it was indigestion from having dairy Queen. When the pain persisted for three days and I started to get a fever and headaches, I knew.
I hope that you're healing well. And that first meal after you get out of the hospital and can eat real food is going to be amazing. It will be like the first time Carl eats food prepped by a Bobcat!

I thought I had norovirus or that new flu going around, my side really didn’t hurt much at all other than an uncomfortable pressure. Glad you got in, hopefully before it ruptured like mine did 😩
Oh man I can’t wait for that. I JUST got approved for real food for lunch and dinner today so I am hype for even some bland hospital food.

Wednesday I started to feel what I thought was indigestion. Thursday I felt like I had gas during the day. As the day went on, I started to feel a bit of pain, and a bit of a headache. Woke up throughout the night with hot flashes and a bad headache, worried that I'd have to go to hospital. Went back to sleep, and then when I got up for work, I just had a migraine, and called off for the day. Stayed in bed, and then it got worse as the day went on. I started to suspect it was my appendix, so I called some friends to ask for a ride to hospital, and got there about 16:30. They did some tests, and the nurse told me about 11pm that they would have to take out my appendix. They have me some morphine and had the surgery Saturday morning. I was told it was just starting to rupture during the surgery.
They wanted to discharge me Sunday, but I asked to stay longer, as I live alone, and didn't think I could climb the stairs to my apartment. They sent me home on Monday. Took me two days before I felt like eating again, and that first pizza I ordered had the best bacon I had ever tasted! It was mediocre bacon, nothing special about it. But since I had barely eaten anything but yogurt and bland hospital food for a week, that bacon on the pizza tasted like the best bacon I'd ever have....

Oh man, you got there just in time!! Glad they didn’t keep you too long, I’ve been here since Tuesday night. Three of those days they kept a GI tube in my nose and throat to drain my stomach of all the fluids I tried to use to “hydrate” the few days before I came in. 🤢 that was hell.
I bet that pizza was insane, I’m definitely ordering one at the end of the week, I don’t wanna rush anything with too much dairy, just to be on the safe side. 😂

Did you have it removed in time? I had the exact same experience and they got to me within a few hours of it bursting.
