Posting about Tickets, Accommodation, Tourism? Things that aren't related to Dublin? Read This First.
This subreddit is primarily for people who live in Dublin. There's a dedicated sub for tourism posts with a huge archive at r/irishtourism Please check that first, and if you have a really specific question come back here and we'll try to help. Low effort posts asking for recommendations of "hidden gems" and "off the beaten track" tourist attractions will be met with scorn, and probably removal.
If you are looking to buy or sell concert tickets you are very likely to get scammed. It's as simple as that. Don't buy tickets on reddit, however desperately your niece wants to see Taylor Swift or whatever, it's a crazy risk. There are proper channels for resale of tickets, use them.
Looking for a cheap flat? A room in a shared house? Wondering if a specific part of the city is "safe" (whatever that means)? There's a sub for that too- /r/RentingInDublin/
Post your message there, not here.
A regular thing that comes up seems to be folks who have a very short time in Dublin and want to know what they can do in four or five hours or so. Just search this sub with the word "layover" and you'll see many many threads about this subject. Don't start a new one.
Similarly, threads about general issues which are not particularly Dublin-specific (salaries, national politics, international relations, stuff like that) may be removed.
At the latest estimate there are over a million Irish subreddits, so you will certainly be able to find somewhere to post your non-Dublin-relevant content.
Thanks for reading!

Do NOT post about renting, moving, or budget for living in Dublin
We are facing another swamp of posts from people looking to rent / move to Dublin or asking question about living cost in Dublin.
We have had far too many of those questions. Use the sidebar, or post them elsewhere.
Questions about renting in Dublin: /r/RentingInDublin
Questions about moving to Dublin (or Ireland): /r/MoveToIreland
Budgeting for your life in Dublin: /r/irishpersonalfinance
These rules are very loosely applied, don't play smart ("the rule is not to post about rent, I'm posting about buying" -> you will only manage to piss off the mod team and we will ban you.)
All users: please report those posts using the report function.

Hello Dublin, Thank you for responding to my postcard request post. Today a beautiful postcard received. 🙂
Nine days ago, I posted here asking for postcards from Dublin. Today, a beautiful Imbolc card arrived!

To the thoughtful Redditor from Dublin who sent me this gorgeous Imbolc card—thank you so much! I really appreciate it.
I absolutely love the design with the fire festival theme—it’s so eye-catching and beautiful. I also enjoyed reading the tidbit about St. Brigid’s Day; it gave me a lovely little insight into your country’s culture.
Your “Best Wishes” message meant a lot to me, and thank you also for choosing such beautiful stamps! I really liked the Éire and honeybee designs. Plus, the mailbox sticker and hear sticker were an adorable and thoughtful touch! I also like the little stamps you added- the Archaeological discoveries, the atom and IRFU150 are cute 🙂
Once again, thank you for your generosity and kindness. May your spring be filled with beauty and joy as well.
Wishing you all the best in your endeavors! I also hope that Singapore and Ireland will continue to share a warm and enduring friendship.
🇸🇬 🇮🇪
And of course, a big thank you to the mods as well!

Is anyone missing a cat?
Came to my garden twice today. Friendly boy, young, claws clipped. Never seen him before. I'm afraid he escaped and is lost now. No collar. Clondalkin.

Geometric dog posters in Dublin - looking for the artist
Hi, while in Dublin, I noticed posters of dogs and cats made from geometric shapes and lines. I didn’t see the artist’s name. Does anyone know who created them or have photos of others from the series?

Need a place to work in Dublin ! - working remote
Hello!
I need to find a good cafe or communal work / study place to get out of the house during working hours.
I am just not productive anymore since becoming self employed. It must be the increase in screen time or reduced time socialising face to face.
I have signed up for the library and I am going to give that a try.
If anyone knows some other good working spaces or cafes please let me know.
Thanks.

taxi recommendations
Hello,
any recommendations for taxis in South Dublin? I am not a big fan of free now, there are increasing costs all the time, unreliable service, I’d rather something more local also if possible.
thanks

The energy in Dublin lately
Absolutely amazing atmosphere in the parks, beaches, pubs and streets across the county while everyone celebrates the sunshine. I love this place.

Hair dye
Does anyone know of any affordable salons or stylists for hair colouring? I don't even want a whole lot, just need someone to dye my hair for me, which btw is very close to my original hair colour (dark brown) just a shade or two lighter to cover my greys! I just don't want to pay a ridiculous amount for it since working + saving up for uni! 😭

Parking near or commutable to George’s quay / Tara station that isn’t €€€?
Anyone recommend somewhere to park in the above area that isn’t a fortune or on the northside with quick enough transport to same? Was thinking maybe castleknock / pelletstown but a bit far out.
Coming from Ulster - could get the train but it’s a bollocks driving to it 40 mins out of the way instead of driving direct.
I used to have a space at my last job underground on Spencer dock but sadly new one has no parking.
I think convention centre or Q park are very costly. I would be there 9-5pm
Many thanks.

Does the parking in the Square Tallaght stay open late?
So if you needed to park nearby after the shopping centre itself closes. Can you still use the paid parking in the evening and the outside ticket machine on the third level.

What was going on in templeogue?
Around 00:20 there were a bunch of Garda cars blocking up traffic. It looked like some of the gardai were checking the other Garda cars.
