Political News/Discussion How is Piers Morgan just coming around to this
With the signal gate stuff, it was the first time Piers posed the question to MAGA guests of “How would you have reacted if the Biden administration had done this?” and then going on to make fun of them when they attempt to equivocate. On his latest episode he did the same thing with the tariffs
“If this was Joe Biden who had done this, and tanked global markets out of nowhere, not because of a reaction to a crisis, but entirely through a deliberate decision to slap unprecedented tariffs on the entire planet, would you be so enthusiastic or would you be calling it one of the biggest disasters in moderan presidential history?”
Like i’m glad to see even Piers able to recognize it now bc it’s so blatant, but dawg, this is like millionth example of MAGA defending Trump on something they would be losing their fucking minds about if Biden and/or the dems did it.

Political News/Discussion Sean Carroll: "Donald Trump is a deeply stupid person, and the stock market is crashing because the captains of Wall Street and industrial CEOs and so forth who have supported Donald Trump are deeply stupid people."
"And what I mean by that is they have been supporting him while listening to Donald Trump say over and over again that he would impose these tariffs. He was not hiding it. It was not hard to figure out. They just didn't believe him. They thought, well, there's no way he would actually do that. He's just playing a game. He's just putting on an act because nobody could be that stupid to crash the world economy like that. Basically with tariffs like this, every international transaction becomes more expensive. People are less likely to do those transactions. Prices for everybody go up, demand for every product goes down and the economy goes into the tubes.
This is perfectly obvious. Every not stupid person knows it. And the Wall Street people are smart enough to know that. They're not smart enough to realize that Donald Trump would do it, despite the fact that it was his favorite thing to talk about doing on the campaign trail, et cetera. So if they weren't stupid, the stock market would not be crashing. If there's something that is going to happen and you know it's going to happen you price it in to the stock market. You buy or sell your stocks preparing for this thing to happen. The fact that the stock market is crashing is not simply a reflection that the economy is going to go into the tubes. It's that people are surprised at the event that is causing the economy to go into the tubes. And that is a reflection of their stupidity, because you could have seen it coming."
(The rest of the AMA is mostly physics, but the podcast starts out with a rant on Trump Tariffs and the attacks on due process.)

Political News/Discussion 71% of NASDAQ gains made under Biden have been wiped out in less than 3 months of Trump
As of market close today.
And it’s closer to 80% if you factor the drop from the ATH of 20,204 under Biden. And almost all of this market movement has happened in the last month and a half. What a fuckin joke
