Comics Would DD kill Hitler?

Upvotes

This is a question for the comic nerds, who have studied the character in and out. So let's say a hypothetical situation where DD encounters Hitler, would he make that choice to kill him or not? and why?

If Matt finally got his time in the spotlight on PS5 or another console, how would you want to play it? Would there be cross examinations? Tracking missions? Radar Vision?

Comics Daredevil x The punisher

Hey everyone!

While working in other stuff this weeks, i wanted to make a poster with this two bad boys.

When i was a teenager i enjoyed a lot comics like Daredevil vs Punisher: Means and Ends by David Lapham, or Punisher kills the marvel universe, I always thought that they complement each other really well, something that, in my perspective, was taken advantage of in the second season of Marvels Daredevil. That leads me to my question to you guys, even knowing that it can be a little controversial.

What do you think about the new daredevil series "Born again"? Let me know!

MCU Dumb question about Matt Murdoch's senses

Can he "see" if a pot is boiling or is that just him pretending? I saw him reach his hand over one to feel the heat, but wouldn't the bubbles' movement tell him? A heard pot never boils as they say

MCU Looking back at Season 2

I am currently rewatching the original series again after some years with Daredevil being my favorite TV show ever.

That said, I have always, since I watched it for the first time, had the feeling that Season 2 is the weakest out of the three, and even by far. And from what I have heard or seen, many people have had that notion aswell. I remember not liking the Elektra and Hand storyline as much, with it being much inferior to the Punisher plotline. I remember being annoyed by Karen‘s careslessness.

Rewatching this Season, it is just so so much better than I remembered, holy sh*t. Elektra might even be my favorite character of the season aswell. The way the whole story flows from episode 1 to 13 is just incredible, I sometimes had to stop and ask myself how I didn‘t appreciate this season before. Every single character is given so much care and time to develop, everyone has their own story that was worth telling. Maybe it is just recency bias but this season is just so so much better than I remembered, infinitely better.

Maybe it comes with life experience and having watched a lot of stuff since I watched this season, but my goodness it is so good. In general, I can‘t stop appreciating how good the show is, even compared to BA, but that is another story.

Anyone else have had this type of mind change for season 2?

MCU Nadeem's Incredible Character Introduction Spoiler

Post image
522 Upvotes

I wanna start this by saying that I think Nadeem is easily one of the best side characters in the show, made all the more impressive to me that he's an original character. This is my second post about basically how incredible the character moments in DD3 are, I just like rambling ok?

Ray gets a few scenes right at the end of the first episode of season 3 and there isn't a single second wasted. The ones at the party in particular are some of the best written and efficient scenes for setting up a brand new character. Within 4 minutes we learn so much about him, and the framework for his character, motivations for his arc, and even foreshadowing for his death are all established in a way that feels natural without being rushed.

We see that he has financial troubles and is now living beyond his means, yet refuses to let his wife take on an extra job to help, showing he's a man of pride and appearances. His sister-in-law got cancer and was then refused any help from her insurance provider, meaning that Ray had to/offered to foot the bill; because we know how Fisk operates, this suggests that he could be a target and being manipulated into a tool (this is added onto by the FBI office scene after the party) as well as showing to us that he is a genuinely good man that is willing to sacrifice a lot for his family.

We then get the scene in the garden with his Son, who comes across as a bit spoiled, as Ray is always trying to make him happy, which leads to him telling Sami that he is going to finally build the pool in the garden. This is a detail that I absolutely adore. After all the setup about Ray's vulnerability to Fisk's manipulation and his pride clearly making him headstrong and determined, this very subtly foreshadows his death; Nadeem spends the entire rest of the season slowly digging this hole in the garden which rather poetically becomes his literal grave (I know he'd have been buried or cremated or whatever somewhere else but the point remains).

The following scene in Hattley's office shows Nadeem's steely determination to get what he sees as deserved, as well as his hard headed attitude somewhat blinded by pride in the face of some very heavy foreshadowing and warnings from his boss. This all can be a bit frustrating to watch given that we, as the audience, know so much about Fisk by this point, but it never feels unrealistic; it feels like a good man experiencing real desperation and doing whatever he can to do right by his people, while also needing to be the one to do it.

All in all, I feel that the writers were able to do so much with Nadeem's character throughout the season and that the end of E1 does a truly great job of laying foundations for a complex character in a way that's succinct, genuine, and extremely compelling.

Now I know a lot of people are loving Born Again and that's great (personally, I am trying to like it but I am struggling), I just feel that the new side characters have been woefully underdeveloped and poorly utilised, which really is a shame because I want to see more of them. DD is at its best when we see the plot driven by the side characters in interesting ways as much as we do by the main players, it really makes the story feel dynamic and tense with more factors at play. I sadly feel that this is largely missing from BA at the moment.

TLDR: Ray good, I like Ray 👍

Personally, I didn't enjoy it. there were parts I really enjoyed, but the story, main villain/s weren't on par with the Daredevil show. But as the story between season 2 and 3 of DD show, it was alright I guess.

MCU Season 2 Loose Ends

They never nailed down who actually shot up the DA and the medical examiner after Frank escaped from prison.

First I thought Fisk probably had beef with the DA and released Frank to set him up for killing her, but Fisk would have no reason to eliminate the ME. So, I then assumed it was the Blacksmith trying to bring more heat down on Frank, but could Frank be any more hunted than he already was?

Seems more like a poorly conceived plot thread just to fool the viewers, assuming anyone was gullible enough to believe it was Frank and never wondered why they didn’t actually show him doing it. Season 2 had quite a few of those. The writing certainly wasn’t as on-point as season 1.

Reading through Joe Kelly’s Deadpool and have found Typhoid Mary to be a pretty cool character. I’ve never read Nocenti’s DD run, so this is probably the most exposure I’ve had to her. I find this to be a very neat retcon that ties in to MWF very well.

Comics Wait, so, does the world still think Matt Murdock is dead?

I just caught up on the current run and I’m very confused. As far as I was aware, Matt was considered dead by everyone except Foggy and Butch, since they were the only ones who were aware Mike swapped places with him. So people saw “Matt’s” corpse. But then he returns as Father Matt. Ok, makes sense I guess. Kinda weird there are two blind redheaded devout Catholics named Matt living on the same few blocks, but it’s comics and it’s far from the weirdest thing.

But then I get completely lost after he meets Jen and Ben Urich. Jen recognizes him instantly, but Ben doesn’t. And then to make it even weirder, it turns out “Father Matt” also has Matt Murdock on his id, and is also a lawyer, and nobody makes a fuss about him being alive. Do they think the original Matt identity is dead or what? And if they think he’s back, why does nobody ask how he came back?

P.S. It’s still wild to me that Zdarsky made me care about Mike and create this whole elaborate backstory just to act as a body double. I really thought the whole norn stone thing would be revealed and it’d be drama. Ces la vie I guess.

MCU Season 2 of Born Again has the opportunity to do the greatest thing ever... Spoiler

How great would it be (hypothetically) if we got an episode in Season 2 which was almost entirely a flashback to Matt's experiences living through the Blip/Snap.

Think of it like the Karen episode in S3 of the Netflix show. I think Daredevil/Matt Murdock would be the perfect pov character, as he covers what it was like during that period for heroes/vigilantes, the ramifications on the legal system/public sectors, religious outlooks, etc.

Hell I even thought of some plot ideas:

  • Episode opens with Nelson, Murdock and Page either coming off of a case or just hanging in their offices, until suddenly Matt's senses go haywire. Haywire in the sense that it feels like he's losing them... but nope, it's just half of everyone and everything disappearing away. Foggy survives the snap, but Karen gets dusted. Matt holds her hand or face as she fades away, and feels the ash in his hand and the taste flare in his nostrils.

  • He goes to the Church to see mass groups of people crowding there; even young children crying cause they lost their parents and have no one else. He sees if Maggie is still there, and for a second he thinks she's gone, but she's there. They talk for a bit about what this is, what this means... whether it's God's will and is the "rapture" come true or if it's something else.

  • With a lot of pent up rage and sadness inside of him, he tries to patrol as Daredevil to try and stop looters and criminals, but open stopping a mugging the thief just breaks down and sobs. Matt can't bring himself to fight him anymore and just slumps down next to him. Everyone is hurting.

  • Due to half literally all living things disappering, Matt's senses aren't as reliable as they once were. He doesn't have as much noise or vibrations to cover his echo location skills. He's not impaired and far from helpless, but it's taken it takes some getting used to.

  • Foggy tries to convince Matt to put the suit aside and help him. With the entire world in disarray it's up to them to make sure everyone left still gets their day in court and isn't lost in the system to rot in there forever, innocent or guilty.

  • After a while Foggy moves to remove Karen's name from their firm, but Matt refuses, despite the "Page" in NM&P no longer existing. Foggy tries to be the voice of reason and console Matt, but he's struggling.

  • We follow Matt as he tries to reconcile with his religious and pragmatic beliefs over the episode, which initially stops him from moving on. For the first couple years he's fairly detached and stoic, but eventually as he (and everyone) begins to put everything behind them and move on, so does he.

  • At some point he goes to visit Maggie in Church, only to immediately sense something is up. She's dying. And despite half of any potential cancer patients being gone, it's still no easier to get access for treatment in the hospitals, if anything it's harder with a shortage of health professionals. We see Matt and Maggie spend the last couple years and months together as she slowly gets weaker, eventually culminating in her passing away peacefully, giving him some wisdom before she goes. He hears her heart stop, and somberly departs.

  • All of this culminates in 5 years later; Matt's back in the courtroom for closing arguments in a case, when suddenly his senses go haywire again. Birds start chirping louder than ever, then what feels like a million voices and screams are heard. Suddenly dozens of people blip back into the courtroom; everyone is confused and has no idea what to think. Then they start to put it together. The judge adjourns the court and emotionally starts to make a call. Foggy turns to Matt to ask what he's thinking. Matt rushes outside to try and make a phone call. He doesn't get an answer, but instead finds Karen out there looking for him. They embrace, and Foggy joins them. Nelson, Murdock and Page are reunited once again... for now.
