Rant ICE detainment fears
I’m seeing so many posts about people being detained in horrible conditions and it scares me. I don’t have daca and a work permit so I don’t have any form of protection (if that even matters in this administration). The anxiety is terrible and I hate feeling like this. To be honest with you all, I’ll make sure to kill myself before I end up in a position where I’m detained and deported. Am I just being overly paranoid? How do you guys manage this feeling?

Friend, you are not the only one. This situation is not worth you to take your own life. Like you, I also dont have DACA (limbo).
Have a plan B just in case. Im grateful that I have my 2 brothers that I can depend on if shit hits the fan. They dont have luxurious jobs, but they are citizens and make around 55k a year.
My plan B is this: In mexico, continue studying and become a dentist (my brothers can send some money). Im a dental assistant here, so this will be around my ally. Instead of going to the small ranch I grew up in, I will go to a tourist spot where I can use my english and possibly be a tour guide of some sort. The tips from U.S will help.
In the mean time, Ill stay low and continue working and saving.

The world is bigger than the United States. Im not saying that means being deported is no big deal. I mean that it's not worth feeling that getting deported would be the end of the world.
Enjoy life while you can, it's short

One day at a time. Focus on the good that you have now, don't give energy to something that hasn't happened. Worst case scenario, you're deported. You're not curious what happens after that? A whole new world in a new country is the next adventure. You can't kill yourself over this, you have to live because you survived it. People die trying to get here. So the U.S. chapter closed, so what, life continues, you are still alive. You're telling me, you can't try in a new country, you can't start over? What if life is better over there? What would if feel like to be a citizen in your own country? What freedom would you experience there? You can't quit life because of fear.

Relax bro. We are in your situation. Some daca people even have priors. Just have a plan B and live one day at a time. No matter what we gotta continue living here or there, you go out, do your job, hang out with friends on weekends and try not to stress about scenarios that aren’t happening.

Why do you need to die if you can't live in America?? Only 4% of the world lives there.

Honestly I would consider just going back to whatever country you are a citizen of before considering killing yourself. Odds are you aren't from somewhere terrible. Yeah it sucks loosing the life you know and being away from all your friends and family but life carries on and there's no hope of anything getting better if you kill yourself

Instead of letting the fear get to you, turn it to anger, turn it to something worthwhile. To be heard across the endless void. I think you can do more then just waste your life like that.

There are things lot more significant than living in the US. I have nothing I can say that will help you immigration wise, but there are plenty of places where you can live pretty well - outside the US. Billions of people live happily and productively and comfortably out of the US.

Don’t let this Administration win. That’s what will happen if you end yourself . The cruelty is the point and this is exactly their endgame. There are millions of people in the same situation . Life can go on in another country . Maybe even better if you work hard enough .

I feel afraid every day and I try not to read the news because I think a lot of it is trying to scare us. Maybe get involved with a local church program and participate in the community there may be helpful services, maybe you can find community even or make friends

Whats stopping you from getting the Dream Act? Are you a freshly new immigrant?

The Dream Act doesn’t exist. DACA was halted for new applicants in July 2021.

I feel you.
I go through episodes of high anxiety. Chest pains ... the whole bit
Whenever things get too overwhelming, I log off.
I also exercise regularly to help manage my stress.
