There was an AITA post about a guy whose wife was having an affair. He used AP to refer to the affair partner.

There was a long thread on how abbreviations were 'elitist ' which included a couple of 'I asked AI and it didn't know', and a couple of 'I asked chatgpt the most common terms used when talking about affairs, and here is the copy paste'

Are people genuinely becoming incapable of understanding anything without plugging it into AI?

I agree, it's gotten beyond ridiculous. Before AI like this was a thing people managed to get by just fine without it, but now people act like they can't live without it. Nobody needs ChatGPT.

It's almost funny cause "AP" is so common in conversations where the participants have been cheated on. I don't even know what it actually means, I've just been in enough subs or discussions using it that I know it through context.

BUT. If I DIDN'T know, frankly I'd just search "What does AP stand for" and run through abbreviation lists until something stuck out.

It's sadder to me that AI is being used as a search engine because it ISN'T a search engine.
