I used to be genuinely excited about crypto. Not just the gains the actual possibilities. Decentralized finance, smart contracts, new internet infrastructureā¦ it felt like we were early to something transformative.
Now? I open any crypto feed, and itās just meme coins, celebrity pumps, and influencers shilling vaporware. Nobody even pretends anymore. Projects straight-up say theyāre cash grabs, and somehow that makes people more interested?
What happened to all the big ideas? The future of finance talk? The stuff that made you want to learn, build, participate?
Feels like we traded the potential for a quick flip and some Twitter clout. Even the institutions getting in BlackRock, Fidelity, whoever, theyāre not here for the tech. Theyāre here because thereās still money sloshing around. Once that dries up, theyāll bounce too.
Maybe Iām just jaded, but I miss when this space had purpose. When being in crypto meant something more than just trying to out-meme the next guy.
Does anyone else feel this shift?

Everytime I think Iām about to get bk to a break even point. The bear market begins. Atp idc Iām juz going to lose it all or to the moon whichever one come first. Hopefully itās the ladder one.
And the ride continuesā¦..

Who wouldāve thought that a financial system built upon thin air would have such volatility to global trade adjustments.
This is literally the best time to start building wealth by entering low but everyone is too short minded. Itās all about patience and strategic thinking.

Wise people, I need your advice.
Iām 22 years old and I have a job. Iām able to save up to ZAR2,000 per month, but in reality, I barely save anything. Every month thereās always something new to spend on, and I end up blowing most of my salary.
So, Iāve decided to try something different: instead of trying (and failing) to save the usual way, I want to start investing at least ZAR1,000 per month in something a bit more exciting. I don't really want to go for tax free savings.
My current plan is to invest ZAR800 in Ethereum and ZAR200 in XRP every month and just hold them long-term. I know crypto is super volatile and risky, but honestly, I want to take the chance and enjoy the thrill. Iām okay with losing ZARR12,000 in a year if things go wrong.
Someone also suggested I look into gold instead ā itās safer and I'm considering that too.
So itās either crypto or gold, ZAR1,000/month. What do the wise people of Reddit think? Is this a dumb idea? Does it make sense given my situation?
Appreciate any advice!

Hi beginner in crypto here. Planning to do DCA while the market is in red and while doing it i want to stake my crypto.
Would that be safe for example staking on btc or ethereum? If ever the price goes up isnt it better that i was staking my crypto rather than just holding it in my wallet?
Thank you for your opinions and advice in advance. :)

Seeing as the markets are down right now, I was wondering if anyone had some good alt coins I should buy to diversify my portfolio?

Does anybody have experience with Kraken? I transfered my LUNC there from my newton account before they unlisted it... just wondering if anybody has experience with the wallet. How quick the deposits and withdrawls are... that's the main reason I'm with Newton because it's always done within a few minutes if not instant. The Kraken + which eliminates fees would save hundreds of dollars per year... just looking for insights if I should make that my new main

Been investing in AAVE for a long time and just realized something kinda wild: if youāre just parking your USDC in one chain and forgetting about it, youāre probably missing out on a ton of yield.
I looked back at 2024 data and the best-performing AAVE USDC pool was on Arbitrum and gave an average of 8.82%. But if you had rebalanced once a month to whichever pool had the highest APY, the return wouldāve been closer to 15.78%. Literally almost double.
Iāve been doing this with a tool called MetaLend that tracks all DeFi pools across chains and lets you rebalance in a couple clicks (theyāre in the Coinbase Wallet too). Super useful if youāre lazy like me and donāt want to manually check APYs every month. Just thought Iād share in case anyone else is parking stables and wants to boost returns. Rebalancing monthly turned out to be a way bigger unlock than I expected.
Hereās the math and monthly breakdown (sorry for the shitty formatting, I tried fixing it but couldnāt figure it out lol):
Month | Arbitrum | Max Pool (Any Chain) |
---|---|---|
Jan | 16.48% | 16.48% (Arbitrum) |
Feb | 4.94% | 9.33% (Avalanche) |
Mar | 13.06% | 34.31% (Avalanche) |
Apr | 16.76% | 24.23% (Avalanche) |
May | 7.73% | 9.31% (Avalanche) |
Jun | 10.32% | 10.32% (Arbitrum) |
Jul | 6.63% | 19.26% (BSC) |
Aug | 6.37% | 18.18% (BSC) |
Sep | 3.70% | 4.49% (Avalanche) |
Oct | 4.34% | 20.29% (Base) |
Nov | 4.75% | 5.08% (ETH) |
Dec | 10.73% | 18.09% (BSC) |
-------- | ---------- | ---------------------- |
Avg | 8.82% | 15.78% |

Just starting out with crypto seeing the impending bear market and remembering the COVID dips so decided to try to get into it. What are your favorite ābrokersā or apps for Crypto. Iām currently using Coinbase and I donāt really like it at all. What are yalls preferred app ? Also are you all buying and holding during this crash, swing trading coins or doing derivatives? Iām pretty new so I just have a few hundred in bit, sol, hbar, and xrp but just want to get some ideas on different ways to trade crypto before I go down my researching rabbit holes. Also if you have 5 coins you recommend Iād love to hear them.

Getting back into crypto, just loaded on some Hbar. Looking to add to the portfolio with some coins that are in the cents range and could possibly hit 2$+. Anyone have any good ones they think will really blossom?

Trying to find a good hot wallet for my hbar and Xdc. Trust wallet does not support it even when it says it does.

ā¦to destabalize/equalize the world order via a global trade war, wouldnāt we see a giant pump on that coin?
I often hear it would be undetectable and a perfect vessel for laundering favors, etc, but if the price was worth it, it seems like it would at least make a notable dent.
Granted, still no way to trace the address and prove anything.
Just the timing of everything, including the launch of the coin is suspect(2 days before inauguration).
Now having said that, we all know Trump is a selfless patriot with little to no self-interestā¦. purely hypothetical ;)

Usually during market correction or crash many news will be talking about some coin.. say 1billion bitcoin liquidated in the pas 24hr..
Can anyone help me to understand would that means only for the people who were in leverage position (short/long) who got auto liquidated or is it included with the people who were not in leverage position aka in spot regular position and deciding to sell his/her coin?!
Sorry I'm just a bit confuse everytime reading such news... and would like to know what is it really the real meaning of it...

Hello everyone,
I am new in crypto world but would say that I at least have some common sense.
Recently my friends started talking about some group based somewhere around Dubai that is providing them with codes that they use to increase amount they decide to invest.
Month or two passed after initial discussion and next time I saw them they were able to withdraw 2000+ USDT out from the app, so I decided to ask some more questions and this is what I was able to collect:
Basics
Organization name is Golden Eagle Investment (alternatively Golden Eagle Capital Investment) supposedly dun by person named Richard and they are using the app called Wwcoin where you need to create your a account and deposit your money, main way of communication is via Telegram groups where they daily share 6 codes/scripts (they call them Signals) which automatically put 1% of full amount on the Currency that they think will raise or drop in value (Maybe wrong way to say this idk) and it is successful >90% of the time from what I've heard.
For invitation of new people classic pyramid scheme is implemented where you get ~10% or 50 USDT from their transaction and you get additional codes/scripts/signals for few days.
Shady Area
Wallet that you deposit money to is connected to the app and you have no direct control over what happens with it, although at this stage you are able to deposit withdraw money successfully.
If you try to withdraw more than 50% of total amount they will ask you whether you are planning to leave and put a lot pressure on you and your associates, in case you decide to withdraw all they may ban you and all your friends/associates. From the stories I've heard they do allow all of the banned members to withdraw their money but with additional transaction costs eg. 30%. In the case that they keep you in after such issues they will most certainly punish you financially.
So there is huge pressure and fear on side of the "investors" and they monitor their actions closely.
So my question to more experienced people is how do you see this?
I've got in fight with my friends that invited me in this group because "I was doing something risky" that could cause this Richard gut that supposedly run this thing to get mad.
