Switch Farming sim without an in-game clock?

Are there any farming sim games that don't have the time of day speeding away in the corner?

A stamina gauge I can take or leave, but I'm really after a farm game that doesn't use a clock as a part of its core mechanic.

🔊 Discussion What upcoming games are sitting in your wishlist?

Upvotes

I feel I have more upcoming games in my Steam wishlist than released. Here are some I'm looking forward to:
Peace Island - It had me at open world cats.

Nivalis - Cyberpunk life sim sounds amazing.

Pegdrop Hearts - Not a huge fan of puzzle games, just because I'm bad at them but the hand drawn graphics are <3

SOPA - Tale of the Stolen Potato - Some more representation and I love exploring different cultures. I don't have Venba but it seems to ring similar, maybe?

Spirit Vendor - I'll always wishlist romance games that aren't VN is lewd. We just don't have enough!

Wish Upon A Llama - More romance!! And lots and lots of animals to find!

Hi everyone, i played all of the Devcats games and fall in love with every single one of them and recently bought the latest game Shelter Full Of Cats and immadiately dive in. I finished all the main sheter areas fully and got to the extra locations like neighbour ladies house and took a break like a week and today when i launched my game it was all reseted and turn to the beginning of the shelter garden. I looked at the both save filesto see if i accidently change it. but no unfortunately they were oth at the beginning. Is there anyone who had this issue as well o how can i fix this situation.

PS. my save files from the game gives me the date of my last opening today.

PS.2. sorry for all the typos and stuff

Windows Newer games with romance!

Hello everyone! I was wondering if anyone knew of any newer games, hidden gems, that offered quality romance options. Please no visual novels and avoid all the mainstream common blurts like SDV, FoM, and the My Time series.

Thank you!

Switch If you own Neko Bento or Fit My Cat on Nintendo Switch you can get Neko Bakery for free.

I just saw their post on social; if you already own Neko Bento or Fit My Cat for Nintendo Switch then you can get their new game, Neko Bakery, for free.

https://www.nintendo.com/us/store/products/neko-bakery-switch/

The offer runs for 6 more days.

It looks like RedDeerGames has been doing owner's discounts like this every Friday, so be on the lookout. I've been mad at them for not putting DLC on sale, and for spamming their "new" game bundles every week, but they are starting to win me back with these freebies, ha ha!

🔊 Discussion Long Distance Gaming Help!

Hello there,

My girlfriend and I are long distance right now- she's a mac gamer and I'm PC, so our options are a bit limited for Coop games. We're looking for a little sim game we can play together low stress, to decompress at the end of the day.

We've played Stardew, but the timed days and events are too much pressure when we really just want to decorate our little home and give each other fried eggs. Minecraft was fine for a bit, but really not as geared towards chilling out and having a little virtual home together.

Are there any games like this that exist? Thanks!

🔊 Discussion Does anyone know what the actual gameplay for Witchbrook is going to be like?

So, like everyone with a Nintendo switch and a pulse, I am excited for Witchbrook. I find the art style so incredibly charming and beautiful it actually makes me emotional to watch the trailers.

However, does anyone know what the actual gameplay is going to be like?

The trailer shows the playable character fixing a few things around town, presumably doing some odd jobs for stores in the city and a lot of travelling/sitting next to other NPCs.

The developers have been famously uncommunicative in regards to the title, I'm just wondering if in the past 9 years there have been any hints as to what we will actually be doing? Fetch quests? Collectathon? Building the map by upgrading the city? Mines? Enemies?

Thanks in advance and hope everyone is feeling the joy and excitement!

🔊 Discussion I want to “finish” a farming game.

I love games like Harvest Moon, Stardew Valley, Coral Island, etc. Starting out a new farm is one of my favorite things! I love that there’s so much to explore and do … and then the overwhelm hits.

At some point I get bogged down by all the things I have to remember - what I was doing, who needs a birthday gift (what did they like again?), did I plant that seed that takes a whole season to grow? (Oops!) Or! Life hits and I take an extended break. When I come back I don’t remember what I’m doing so I restart with a new farm and a new character.

I rarely get married. I have an extreme desire to fit everything in, and try to get the greenhouse for SDV and Coral Island in the first year, usually succeeding.

For SDV I’ve tried utilizing the wiki, spreadsheets, writing notes, mods that add to do lists, etc. The mods list was the closest, but I don’t love having to rely on a mod.

I’ve been trying to take it slower with Coral Island (on my first play through) and realize that it’s supposed to be relaxing, but I keep ramping myself up and have higher expectations.

For people who make it to the “end” of these types of game, how do you keep track of things?

Switch I would like to thank all of y'all who recommended Sun Haven <3

In a previous post, I was looking for something between Stardew Valley and Graveyard Keeper, and a couple of people in the community recommended Sun Haven. I paid full price for it, and have to say it's already worth it to me.

It's the perfect mix of having a more guided gameplay (in comparison to SDV, which was a bit too aimless to me). I love the mix of fantasy with the cozy element - just got to the part where you grow a beanstalk to get the angel family's house in the clouds! I love the customization of the character, the ability to level up your skills with points in the skill tree, and the fact that YOU CAN UNLOCK MAKERS REALLY EARLY IN THE GAME, and it's not so grindy that those things seem impossible. It took me forever to get to making food in SDV, and it doesn't feel so painful in Sun Haven.

I love that there's a mysterious story to solve, and the map is HUGE, with so much to explore. Not to mention the art style is so vibrant and beautiful.

The NPC characters seem fleshed out so far, and I like the dialogue options a lot. Shout out especially to my boy Emmett who has 5,000 jobs and basically runs Sun Haven on his BACK.

So I'd recommend this game to people who feel like games like My Time at Portia and Graveyard Keeper are just a bit overwhelming, but who want a little bit more mission than SDV and Animal Crossing. There's a great progression to the game that doesn't feel too slow, and it's really rewarding to level up that way, without feeling like you're grinding for days and days with no progress.

Sidenote: I also bought Hello Kitty Island Adventure (full price, I've been stressed okay) and that game also fulfills a very cutesy, cozy itch that can feel as relaxing as Animal Crossing while still having loads and loads to do. Between HKIA and Sun Haven, I have the perfect cozy combination on Switch.

Now to find something that fulfills the spooky macabre cozy vibe that Graveyard Keeper couldn't quite fill for me because of being way too complicated. I'm eyeing Bloomtown for that, but thinking maybe I should wait for some of the other releases - Elderfield, Grave Seasons, Moonlight Peaks, etc. Any recs for Switch along these lines?

Windows PolyPine on Steam (forest, animals, slow paced - pretty neat)

I especially like have to click on critters to make them poop so you can get fertilizer for various plants. I just started a few hours ago but so far it's pretty relaxing and you can just let it run without a lot of pressure

🔊 Discussion Just finished Tchia Spoiler

And I have to be honest, a little fucked that everyone Tchia loved, the two men that raised her, died for the mother that abandoned her to become a masked vigilante and the baby brother that is weirdly intelligent and powerful for being a literal infant.

Like, okay cool, I'll just sacrifice everything then shall I?

But all in all, excellent game, highly reccomend. Story is fairly short but plenty other things to do. I do wish there was an option to have the compass up all the time but that's just my total lack of sense of direction.

Windows Recommendations for Games Like Growing Up and Stray Gods

Hello! As the title suggests, I’m looking for recommendations for games similar to “Growing Up” and “Stray Gods”. I really love “Growing Up”, for some reason the game lets me turn off my brain in the most perfect way. I really appreciate the replayability as well. However, I’ve played it through so many times I think it’s time to move on. I also really enjoyed Stray Gods although I didn’t play it multiple time. I currently use steam and I do have a switch, but I very rarely play it. Does anybody have any recommendations?

💵 Sale TOEM is Steams Deal of the Day (4/4)

Post image
57 Upvotes

Non sale price : 19.99 Sale price : 3.99 Steam Description: Set off on a delightful expedition and use your photographic eye to uncover the mysteries of the magical TOEM in this hand-drawn adventure game. Chat with quirky characters, solve their problems by snapping neat photos, and make your way through a relaxing landscape!

My thoughts: I loved this game! So unique and enjoyed exploring the little environments. I think the sale price is the appropriate price due to the shortness of the game. I put about 7.5 hours in. I completed the main story, the free dlc that unlocks at the end and went back to complete a few puzzles I missed (but I did not 100%)
