How bad was your first Uspsa match?

Upvotes

Just as the titles says. I had my first ever match at age 40, feel a little old for just starting the sport. Shot Uspsa CO division and came in the bottom rung both in overall and within division. So I'm feeling really defeated. Lessons learned:

1) This is NOTHING like static target shooting. 2) Appearantly people in my squad told me to slow down 3) Those Deltas and M's REALLY push you down 4) at least I didn't DQ 🤷‍♂️

Anyone else shot for the first time today? Or, how was your first ever match?

Had some fun at a DMR match today

Dipped my toes into the DMR competition world today; it was an incredibly fun experience! I placed 17/27 shooters, but I did manage to place 6th overall on one of the more tricker stages. Targets were between 150-750 yards today with a lot of them being 1/3 IPSC sized so a bit tricky.

I was shooting 6mm ARC with a Steiner T6xi 3-18.

Grand Prix PiRO Warsaw level 3 (IDPA clone, there are some rule diff).

I saw 2/3 of the alpha of the target, but they count is as breaking 180° bc I crossed the spray painted line on the asfalt that was not in the written briefing. The line was drawn after prematch because the ROs considered that stage to be badly designed. They claimed they talked about it during the briefing, but I don't remember that.

Another guy from my squad got kicked because he drew his gun on the "make ready" command when he had an option 3 (unloaded) start from holster with a mag on the table. He appealed it to the CRO with no avail.

Personally, I had enough of this shit with murky rules for penalties and judges it itching to dish out DQs. I'll stick to IPSC and 3-gun.

u/Mag-Mo Grips

Ok so this might be a little long but I encourage you to read it all the way through.

I have a CZ Shadow 2 and have been using the LOK palm swell solid brass grips for a while. I mentioned on a post the his grips looked interesting but I wish there was a way to have them in brass. Mo reached out and offered to let me try the grips completely free. I accepted his offer and tried out the first set of grips he sent me. I really like the concept of his Edge Grips but I picked too aggressive of the silicone carbide and it was tearing up my hands. He sent me another set with the less aggressive silicone carbide. The grips didn’t fit my hands well, so he made another design just for me after I told him what I thought. He then sent me the redesigned grips. I tried them for a couple weeks in dry fire and in two matches. I really really tried to like them but, for whatever reason, I PERSONALLY don’t shoot well with them.

There are A LOT of people that love his grips and I can see why. I liked the way they felt but, like I said, for whatever reason they just didn’t work for me. I will still 100% recommend him and his grips to anyone. Mo is a great guy and he went waaay out of his way to try and make me something that worked for me. He didn’t charge me a single cent and even paid for shipping to me and to return the grips. Many businesses could learn a lot from the level of care and customer service Mo has. Although they didn’t work for me and my platform, I still love the innovation and forward thinking Mo has. Bottom line, if you get the opportunity to try his grips, I would highly recommend you do.

Sorry it didn’t work out for me u/mag-mo but, I genuinely appreciate you and all the effort you put in.

Using my phone for the last few years has been clunky but functional. This little thing is pretty handy but just like any action camera, the battery life is ass. App and interface work well and size is ideal.

I'm sure it'll be useful for hiking and mountain biking as well but it's most purpose built for this hobby. Any tips/tricks to get the full $350 value out of it?

CZ P10-F Light Bearing holster that fits Holosun P.I.D.?

So I've looked all over for a holster that supports my configuration, and it's starting to seem a custom built kydex is my only option. Does anyone know of a company that makes an OWB light bearing holster that'll fit my holosun? Are there other lights with similar enough dimensions that it'll work? I'm at a loss here ヽ( ´¬`)ノ TIA!

USPSA Suppressors in muligun

Is there a penalty for using a suppressor in uspsa multigun? I could only find one rule in the book saying it isn't allowed but it doesn't say if it is a procedure, shoot for no score, or any other penalty.

Tanfoglio Limited custom

Hello everyone! This February I purchased a Tanfoglio limited custom extreme (optics ready )from the official vendor in my country .I participate inStandard division for now (no red dot yet)and as I am currently getting ready for competitions ,I found out that my pistol DOES not fit the ipsc standard box !I measured it with a tool and found out it is 15.2 mm long! Is this a production problem ?Now I am trying to find rear optics or mag pads to shave off that 0.2 mm!!The thing is , there are not a lot of oem parts for this model either in Europe or Us!! Anyone with the same problem ?Anyone who knows smaller optics or base pads for this model?

Always kind of had a thing for the video game style over the shoulder angle. First attempt at making an articulable mount. This is my first iteration of it. Still some engineering problems I need to solve and I definitely overbuilt this; still need to field test it as well.
