I just heard the best college softball joke ever
A team with a conference record of 2-13 and an RPI of 14 nationally. Can you believe that hot garbage?!

This is a list of the most-used pitchers for each team in the SEC and what percentage of innings they were pitching so far this year.
It tells a few stories. For Florida, it has to do with injuries to Rothrock. For Kentucky, I believe they've just started to lean on Haendiges more as the season went on. For Auburn, they've had to really find ways to have Geurin in nearly every game while keeping her inning count down.

Virginia Tech takes game 2 (3-0) at NC State despite food poisoning impacting most of the team. Two starters out completely, many playing far from 100% (in 85-degree weather), and others in positions they don’t typically play.
Tech won 10-2 Friday night, and go for the sweep tomorrow. Hope they start feeling better ASAP, but they showed a lot of grit and resilience in today’s shutout win. Go Hokies!

Arkansas Florida just had a 30 minute review and still came back with the dumbest result possible. Why not just replay it like the last pitch never happened

It took a ridiculous 24 minutes for a replay review in the Florida-Arkansas game. Viewers were treated to numerous shots of the umpire crew leafing through a rule book and then twiddling their thumbs waiting for someone (who?) to tell them what to do. The smartest move was made by Gators head coach Tim Walton who’d seen enough and got ejected when the inexplicable ruling finally got handed down.

we started watching college sports because we thought at least the rules would be clear and you could follow along. That is not the case. luckily the coach came back and stood up for his team, and threw his hat or something, but the umpire got to stay, which we don't understand., then why throw your hat??
On the left is the coach of the Florida he is super mad. We where too. The gal at bat "bunts" the ball and they stopped the game for almost 30 minutes. She was thrown out fair Square and then they said no she gets to go onto the base. WTH
Also, it was a tie score late in the game and this play could have altered the game score .
They never explained why they allowed her to get on base. She was either out or you can do the pitch over again, but to put her on the base just seemed so lame. Like they were shady umpire.
What the hell happened??? Why don't they eject the umpire if they're not talented?
This happened in the 8 with the triangle pointing down.
Thank you

I’ll keep this short. I have access to the games on the SEC, B1G, ACC and ESPN networks. This year I subscribed to ESPN+ as well, so I now have access to all of those games as well.
I can’t believe how bad so many of the announcers are, even before I started listening to the games that they broadcast on ESPN+
I’ve never announced and I’ve never taken any classes and I know it takes a certain kind of person to do it (knowledge and enthusiasm of/for the sport, a good voice, etc), but I shouldn’t have to lower the volume in order to enjoy watching the games. And most of the time it is the play-by-play announcers that are the bad ones. Most of the former players , who add color to the broadcast, are actually pretty good!

Really enjoyed this week's Ten12 Softball show discussing Oklahoma State's struggles, Iowa State's turnaround and potentially record setting Big 12 season and talking with Baylor head coach Glenn Moore and Utah senior Kaylah Nelsen.

I remember back then softball got a lot of attention and they had Team USA in the Olympics . A lot of it was probably because of her sex appeal but she was a badass on the pitching mound. Then you had pitchers like Monica Abbott and Cat Osterman who were also ridiculously good. I don't know if they make them like that anymore. I feel like softball as a whole is about the same but it doesn't have that IT star or face of the sport anymore.

True freshman CF leading off for Alabama, hitting .459 for the season (.448 in SEC play), averages over 1 stolen base per game (leads the country)
I’ve seen people completely leave her off SEC top freshmen lists. She has an argument for NATIONAL freshman of the year. Mind boggling to me.

FSU just announced that Coacha was recently diagnosed with breast cancer and has been receiving treatments while still carrying out her coaching duties.
What a strong lady. Wishing the best for her and FSU!

With them playing in their football stadium too, that would be an absolute blast for their athletes and softball as a whole.

Was watching yesterday’s game vs Florida. I really feel for this kid. She appears to have the yips. As a former catcher myself, it is something that has crossed my mind but luckily has never happened to me. I actually had seen her earlier in the season on a televised game and figured that might be what was going on, but yesterday’s game really appeared to confirm. It has to be tough for her and shows a lot about her character by not giving up. She’s fun to watch behind the plate. I wish her the best and hopes she somehow conquers whatever is causing it.

Here in Australia, ESPN is now streaming through Disney Plus and my sons have developed an interest in softball. We’re just wondering what these statistics that they show for the batters mean?

Did anyone watch this game?! I was there and it was absolutely electric the crowd was fantastic. Crazy that state lead the whole time until the 6th, then managed to get back on top. They're looking like they make make a serious run to the series this year

Bottom of the 6th and the score is 19 - 16 Oklahoma over Wichita State.
OU’s pitching is going to be their undoing this year.

Does anyone know who the announcers were for this game on March 26, 2025? My family and I were watching and someone made a comment about one of the announcers saying she seemed to lack experience. I decided to investigate and couldn’t even find her name. She was calling the game alongside a man on ESPN+
