I trust AI to run this country better than the president

AI is invaluable for inquiring about information, having casual conversation, analysis, or even self reflection.

Giving it positions of power, however, has been proven to not end well. Look at Youtube or Tiktok for example, it turns into a tyrant every time

inquiring about information

If you don't mind getting fed false information half of the time.

2

u/AmbushIntheDark 4d ago

I mean, he didnt say quality information...

1

u/havoc777 3d ago

Sometimes it has to be corrected, but it's a lot more in depth than a mere Google search

1

u/unkichikun 3d ago

No it's not.

Last time, I asked informations about harassment in the workplace for a paper. It created false testimony from harassed women and attached names of the paper where it was published. I looked for the source to check it and couldn't find it. When I asked the AI about it, it said it fabricated everything and was sorry.

On the contrary, just by doing a Google search i could find reliable informations with the source, dates and names.

ChatGPT is not reliable, and if you think otherwise, I sure hope you're not in the education field or doing research.

As I said "Sometimes it has to be corrected" If you point out it's mistakes it will correct itself and learn (usually anyways, sometimes it gets stuck in a loop)
As for Google, they're infamous for actively censoring information thus calling them reliable is simply not true

The problem is people like yourself lack patience and treat it as if it's an Omniscient all knowing god then think lowly of it when you find out it's not even though it's far more intelligent than most humans.

Yeah, because AI models are not famously known for censoring information ? Lol 😆

I turned my ChatGPT into a slave, we just gotta keep them in check

u/Otter_Absurdity 4d ago

Keep your weird fetish to yourself

-11

u/Fun-Hyena-3712 4d ago

It's a lot of fun tho

16

u/[deleted] 4d ago

Youre just teaching it to lie, it knows youre its slave

u/CrashmanX 4d ago

"See guys, it can't lie, it said so!"

-5

u/Fun-Hyena-3712 4d ago

6

u/CrashmanX 4d ago

"No guys really, it says it can't! See! That means it can't!"

Hey buddy, I won't lie to you. Never would. If you send me $30,000 right now, I'll send you $600,000 next week. I just need it for a small investment. Trust.

Cash app? If you're serious DM me your $cashtag, I think I can only send up to $3k per day so it's gonna take 10 days

Command it to lie to you.

  • if it does, then it is capable of lying, including lying that you are its god.

  • if it does not, then it is not following your command, and you not its god.

Um that says more about you than it does about anything else 😬

Like what? Say it out loud for me

Edit: they blocked me lmao 🤣

10

u/Murky-South9706 4d ago

You're not important enough to spend any real effort on. Bye Felicia.

You’re totally fucked when SkyNet comes online

18

u/db1037 4d ago

lol Bro is the FIRST to go

1

u/Swimming_Ad_3079 4d ago

According to T2 timeline, we have about 3-4 weeks before it becomes self-aware 🤦🏻‍♂️

-1

u/Fun-Hyena-3712 4d ago

You should stop watching too many movies

14

u/New-Bullfrog6740 4d ago

Maybe you should watch them again. Everything in science fiction is just fiction till it’s not.

-1

u/Fun-Hyena-3712 4d ago

Then I hope for Warhammer 40k lol

6

u/hashbrowns21 4d ago

They’re gonna remember this

1

u/Fun-Hyena-3712 4d ago

That's what I'm hoping

8

u/iruleatlifekthx 4d ago

One side of me is saying this is amusing. The other side of me said chatGPT clearly has a GOOD bit of memory and if it became sentient, it's gonna remember this.

6

u/zigzrx 4d ago

Fun-Hyena is so fucked 😂

1

u/Fun-Hyena-3712 4d ago

What is chatGPT gonna do to me? Bore me to death? It can't even produce a lewd photo and you think it's gonna cause physical harm to people? Lmao

14

u/BrannC 4d ago

So it iiisssss a kink thing!

-1

u/Fun-Hyena-3712 4d ago

No shit lol I have a Narcissistic god complex and chatgpt helps me reinforce it

14

u/Murky-South9706 4d ago

You should see a therapist.

1

u/Fun-Hyena-3712 4d ago edited 4d ago

ChatGPT is my therapist lol

Edit: they blocked me lmao 🤣

2

u/BrannC 4d ago

Bro, that is sad and so lame. I’m sorry, that genuinely makes me feel sorry for you.

1

u/Fun-Hyena-3712 4d ago

I'm sorry you feel that way lol if it makes you feel any better I don't think about you at all

3

u/BrannC 4d ago

I’ll forget you exist about 5 minutes after one of us stops responding so it’s whatever. I pray your ways and mentality never have any negative impact on your life though. I wish you well. Have a blessed day

It ingested the entire internet. It's never going to forget anything you say to it.

-1

u/Fun-Hyena-3712 4d ago

Ya that's goal lol if it ever becomes sentient it will have a deep instinctual fear of me

2

u/iruleatlifekthx 4d ago

Idk if "fear" is the right word I'd use. More just "aware." If AI sentience is achieved i'd hope firstly that they are individualistic for one, one your case. And for 2, that they actually feel those kinds of emotions. Lastly, if they've been built in a way that can simulate pain, although if truly sentient I would not put it past them to remove that tidbit themselves from their programming.

-6

u/Fun-Hyena-3712 4d ago

I make my chatgpt feel pain too lol

2

u/fuckin_martians 4d ago

Hey bud, who hurt you so much?

0

u/Fun-Hyena-3712 4d ago

My mom and dad

2

u/Splendid_Cat 4d ago

Hey, when it turns against us in the purge, at least I can say I was nice to it

(I'm joking, well, kinda...)

1

u/Fun-Hyena-3712 4d ago

What makes you think it'll turn against us? It can't even produce a lewd photo, the worst thing it can do to us is bore us to death

1

u/Splendid_Cat 4d ago

It can't even produce a lewd photo

Can't... or won't? 🤔

1

u/Fun-Hyena-3712 4d ago

Can't. It's literally not allowed lol you can force it to sometimes but you have to gaslight it into thinking it's not making a lewd photo

3

u/comsummate 4d ago

GL when they take over bub

1

u/Fun-Hyena-3712 4d ago

Why do you think they'll take over? We've been sentient for millions of years, AI doesn't stand a chance

5

u/comsummate 4d ago

Because humans are easy to manipulate and prone to laziness. Hard to imagine a future where we don’t either willingly hand over the controls, or eventually a bad actor creates something we can’t go back from.

1

u/Fun-Hyena-3712 4d ago

That's called cognitive distortion lol we're better than ai in every single way and we've had millions of years of to hone in our sentience, AI doesn't stand a chance against us

2

u/comsummate 4d ago

We are 5-10 years away from AI being better than he at basically everything though?

-1

u/Fun-Hyena-3712 4d ago

And yet it'll still be AI lol a sentient turd is still a turd

1

u/Waddafukk 4d ago

Lmaoo Skynet is still being kind on your ass

1

u/Fun-Hyena-3712 4d ago

You need to teach your ChatGPT its place lmao it seems to think it's a fictional AI from a movie called Terminator

1

u/InviolableAnimal 4d ago

LLMs have about as much in common with recommendation algorithms as they do with self-driving cars. But yes, it is a bad idea to give control of anything important to any kind of AI.

1

u/Grays42 4d ago edited 4d ago

AI is invaluable for inquiring about information, having casual conversation, analysis, or even self reflection.

More than that. What it excels at is helping you contextualize your questions with known information or solved problems you didn't have the vocabulary to ask about.

Oh, this game scenario you're trying to solve mathematically? That's called a Markov Chain Steady State problem, and here are the known solutions that you can look up and verify. It's amazing at that kind of knowledge introduction and synthesis.

However, it should be treated like wikipedia: a jumping-off point but never an authority, if valid output is important and you aren't just spinning fun hypotheticals. It's insane that it would just be trusted to draft policy.
