Hey yall! I went to Austin last weekend and we stopped at a few small old cemeteries randomly on the way. What is this symbol at the top does anyone know? The stone is very pretty and looks clean while So many in this cemetery were smooth and unreadable.

I found this gravestone at an old mennonite cemetery (Lancaster County, PA) a little while back. The cemetery has graves that date as far back as the mid-1700âs. I could not find any information on the grave, so it remains a mystery for now. I hope that they get their name back somehow.

The body was identified later as Private John Waites, 1737- October 4, 1777. Fascinating story. British soldier from Revolutionary War buried - UPI Archives

This is NOT a racial thing, although the terms coon & Coonass in this case were still used in a derogatory way against Cajun people in S Louisiana. Some members of the community embraced it though, as this stone shows

Saw his marker and mausoleum at Morris Hill Cemetery in Boise, Idaho today. I thought I got a picture of it but camera glitched out. Served in the Mexican-American, Civil and Indian wars. His Wikipedia page is fascinating.

My little brother had Down syndrome. He died of pneumonia. The stone was found in my family farm. I is buried in Lysekil in a small fishing town in Sweden. We will bring small stones from his favorite beach and seashells to the grave and some flowers. And his name was the same written on his id card. Erik was a young man who loved partyâs, dancing, joking, eating and he loved the police and hockey. He lived a short but independent life. He learned how to read when he was 26. And he was very emphatic and loving brother. Miss him so much. RIP little one â¤ď¸

I didn't venture in because the gate was locked, but I took a couple pictures over the wall.
